[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1451905] Re: unsupported baytrail tablet

2015-07-17 Thread Pascal VITOUX
Last kernel tested : 4.2.0-040200rc2-generic
dmesg in attachement dmesg-4.2.0-040200rc2-generic.txt

The sound card still doesn't work.

I needed to reinstall Vivid from a 32bits live-usb so I switched the
architecture tag to i386.

The clock source is now 'tsc' as it should be, so its a small
improvement.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1451905] Re: unsupported baytrail tablet

2015-05-06 Thread Pascal VITOUX
This is a sample product, that's why the DMI informations are not set.

The model written on the backside is : B28 1512

This product is sold under the name : TERRA PAD 1061 W8.1 Pro
But this sample is probably not identical (at least the DMI infos and probably
the bios version)

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1451905] Re: unsupported baytrail tablet

2015-05-05 Thread Pascal VITOUX
The wireless interface works with this module
https://github.com/hadess/rtl8723as.git and a 4.0+ kernel
But I have a lot of instability issue with mmc /sdhci / i2c ...

I will continue to test new kernels and maybe experiment some kernel
patches.

In case it can be useful , I post my tests results here :

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1422338] Re: I/O errors on mmc partitions

2015-05-04 Thread Pascal VITOUX
I confirm the problem on the Atom Z37xxx. (comment #23)

( 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Atom Processor
Z36xxx/Z37xxx Series SoC Transaction Register [8086:0f00] (rev 0f) )

I get these errors while installing the system on a baytrail tablet with
eMMC (bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-
installer/+bug/1451473 )

Extract of dmesg (full log in attachment):

Ubiquity reports "Input/output errors" consequently, I'm unable to
  install Ubuntu on mmcblk0 device.

I don't know if it's related, but I also get a warning from libparted:

  sudo parted -l
Warning: The driver descriptor says the physical block size is 2048 bytes, but
Linux says it is 512 bytes.
