My computer is Lenovo S10-3, wi-fi is ath9k. Xubuntu 12.04 with fresh updates. First time this problem appeared when i updated to natty. Wireless is turned on in BIOS. Hardware switch in on. viktor@viktor-Lenovo:~$ rfkill list 0: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 1: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: yes I tried to turn wi-fi on in Windows that is installed alongside with Ubuntu. And I tried to blacklist iwlagn, ath5k or ath9k drivers. It has an influence on rfkill response, but doesn't solve the problem. For example, string with phy0 can disappear or changes into ideapad_3g. I tested Linux kernels 3.3.1 and 3.4.0rc1 - wi-fi doesn't work. Just disk activity indicator is flashing for short time, screen remains black. I read the topic here about similar situation, but there the problem was in encryption of /home. I don't use encryption. So after latest update and small investigation with no effect, i used Phil's V. advice and wrote this report. Hope you'll help me.
