I got this laptop as a gift. XP was obsolate and the fellow wouldn't use it any more. So I started with 12.04 This problem occurt with 12.04. Therefore I installed 14.04. Today I have tested upstream kernel v3.19.0 rc6. I pressed the shift key during boot process. So I could select the kernel. Hello Christopher, I installed (3.19-rc6) and couldn't boot into the OS. There were no boot menu to select and test the new kernel version. Wolfgang Am 27.01.2015 um 12:49 schrieb Christopher M. Hello Joseph, I installed as described in the wiki. But there is no boot menu. kubuntu started streigt away. It is the only OS on this laptop. After installation I made a sceen shot from the output of the terminal. See the attachment.
