I got this laptop as a gift. XP was obsolate and the fellow wouldn't use it any more. So I started with 12.04 This problem occurt with 12.04. Therefore I installed 14.04. Hello Joseph, I installed as described in the wiki. After installation I made a sceen shot from the output of the terminal. See the attachment of my E-Mail. But there is no boot menu, like it says in the Wiki, to choose the upstrean kernel. kubuntu started streigt away. It is the only OS on this laptop. I inserted a DVD and noting happend.
