[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1222002] Re: USB 3.0 Disconnects on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Hi! I've experienced this problem on my Dell N7110. It's been present in 13.04 and in 13.10 dev release, too. Attached some info from dmesg, which was written in the moment of the USB 3.0 disconnect. Will post apport info, too. ** Attachment added: debug info from dmesg https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1222002/+attachment/3814753/+files/dmesg.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1222002 Title: USB 3.0 Disconnects on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: After a clean install and upgdate of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS I can not use my USB 3.0 ports to restore files from my backup disk. uname -a Linux csipetke 3.8.0-30-generic #44~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 23 18:32:41 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux The errors I get from command line: cp: reading `gsinai/.recently-used.xbel.82Z5BV': Input/output error cp: failed to extend `/dev/null': Input/output error dmesg: [ 2050.726287] Buffer I/O error on device dm-0, logical block 296747919 [ 2050.726290] lost page write due to I/O error on dm-0 syslog: Sep 7 10:55:59 csipetke kernel: [ 650.040129] usb 3-12: reset high-speed USB device number 4 using xhci_hcd Sep 7 10:55:59 csipetke kernel: [ 650.062917] xhci_hcd :00:14.0: xHCI xhci_drop_endpoint called with disabled ep 8807f2534600 Sep 7 11:19:24 csipetke kernel: [ 2050.726287] Buffer I/O error on device dm-0, logical block 296747919 Sep 7 11:19:24 csipetke kernel: [ 2050.726290] lost page write due to I/O error on dm-0 The problem is 100% reproducable, please tell me if you need more information. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 978891] Re: ubuntu 12.04 doesn't boot when usb device plugged in (except usb mouse)
I have encountered this bug on a Dell Inspiron N7110, but only if i have anything plugged into one of my USB 3.0 ports. I've got kernel 3.9.4 running, but it hasn't been fixed. The system boots into recovery. I tried booting without quiet splash options, and took a photo of the screen, but didn't see any errors. My USB mouse gets recognized as a mouse and a driver gets assigned. then it switches to the fancy look console, than it hangs, with the fan spinnig madly. Attached a (poor) photo of the screen with the last boot messages. ** Attachment added: Boot messages before hanging. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/978891/+attachment/3746967/+files/IMAG1305.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/978891 Title: ubuntu 12.04 doesn't boot when usb device plugged in (except usb mouse) Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: On DELL Vostro 3750 with Ubuntu 12.04 beta 64bit, boot stops with black screen is in one of USB ports is plugged USB device that is not USB mouse.
