[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1186253] Re: 2357:0100 TP-Link 8200ND USB Wireless adapter won't work...
Right, two different bugs. With the device table fixed in -proposed, let's use this bug to track the authentication issue. ** Description changed: - This device uses an rtl8192cu Realtek driver as far as I know. - If you plug the device in via USB, or boot with it connected, nothing happens. + This device uses an rtl8192cu Realtek driver. - You have to execute the following commands, to at least have it in NetworkManager/iwconfig. - # sudo su - # modprobe rtl8192cu - # echo 2357 0100 > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/rtl8192cu/new_id - # exit - - Even after this, you won't be able to connect. Authentication fails with a WPA2 router, with: # wlan1: authenticate with .:.:.:.:.. # wlan1: direct probe to ... (try 1/3) # wlan1: direct probe to ... (try 2/3) # wlan1: direct probe to ... Nope. Does not work. I'll attach my new lsusb and dmesg. I'm running the new proposed kernel. Larry sent me this fix weeks ago, and it only inits the device. Like the LED shows up and you can see it in NetworkManager. But you still cannot connect, as the authentication will time out. Thanks for your effort, I hope this bug will get fixed one day. ** Attachment added: "lsusb_41_2.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1186253/+attachment/3755666/+files/lsusb_41_2.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1186253 Title: 2357:0100 TP-Link 8200ND USB Wireless adapter won't work...
