[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1186253] Re: 2357:0100 TP-Link 8200ND USB Wireless adapter won't authenticate [rtl812cu]
@Christopher: Sorry I didn't update my bug, only posted on AskUbuntu. "End of my story? Larry never found the time to investigate the issue. I returned the item as it dropped connection sometimes on Windows as well. They just refunded it and that's it. So yeah. This is a terrible chip, no one should buy a device equipped with such." Of course the bug is a bug, so if anyone is willing to help investigate matters further, feel free. I didn't ask for a refund, they just did, without any notice. Not like I mind. (Time for a "free" N wifi. Shiki, as per http://download.lenovo.com/express/ddfm.html an update is available for your BIOS (3.23). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette .
