The problem is, trackpad is not working at all with clean install (at least in 12.04, 13.04, 13.10). This solves the problem (solution found from here: https://lifebook.ts.fujitsu.com/blog/blog/category/general/ubuntu-12-10 -quantal-quetzal-on-fujitsu-lifebook-uh572/s ) 1. open a terminal (Ctrl-Alt-T) 2. run $ sudo gedit /etc/default/grub (or your favourite editor - I prefer "vim") 3. find the line containing: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX 4. add "i8042.notimeout i8042.nomux" to the string in quotes 5. save and exit 6. run $ sudo update-grub 7. reboot --- ApportVersion: 2.12.5-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: ville 1769 F.... pulseaudio DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=94b7066a-54d2-4e3a-a37c-b01e6c6a832d InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-10-25 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.10 "Saucy Salamander" - Release amd64 (20131016.1) MachineType: FUJITSU LIFEBOOK UH572 MarkForUpload: True Package: linux (not installed) ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.11.0-12-generic.efi.signed root=UUID=fa651306-d4e9-4e3f-870d-23f7e7708a21 ro i8042.notimeout i8042.nomux quiet splash vt.handoff=7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-12.19-generic 3.11.3 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-3.11.0-12-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-3.11.0-12-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.116 Tags: saucy Uname: Linux 3.11.0-12-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo dmi.bios.date: 10/17/2012 dmi.bios.vendor: FUJITSU // Phoenix Technologies Ltd. dmi.bios.version: 2.08 dmi.board.name: FJNBB31 dmi.board.vendor: FUJITSU dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: FUJITSU dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnFUJITSU//PhoenixTechnologiesLtd.:bvr2.08:bd10/17/2012:svnFUJITSU:pnLIFEBOOKUH572:pvr:rvnFUJITSU:rnFJNBB31:rvr:cvnFUJITSU:ct10:cvr: dmi.product.name: LIFEBOOK UH572 dmi.sys.vendor: FUJITSU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1244634/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
