[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1246793] Re: Battery charging slows down laptop
Looks like you have run into the infamous CPU frequency issue. http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_CPU_frequency_scaling Solution is to make sure you are running with high quality AC power. Workaround is to edit /etc/default/grub Find the following line and add processor.ignore_ppc=1 so it looks like this: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash processor.ignore_ppc=1" then sudo update-grub && sudo reboot. Have a nice day. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1246793 Title: Battery charging slows down laptop Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Following up on Bug #962712 which was marked as invalid, instead of fixed (gee, thanks...) [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1246793] Re: Battery charging slows down laptop
Did this issue occur in a previous version of Ubuntu, or is this a new issue? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.12 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance.
