[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1332901] Re: gigabit ethernet card on ASUS N550JK not working at all
Hi, Just purchased an ASUS N550JK and experience the same problem. Wireless works, but no network via ethernet. Reverting to 3.13 kernel series would not be my preferred solution. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1332901] Re: gigabit ethernet card on ASUS N550JK not working at all
Hi, I've also a Asus N550JK with a 05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 0c) With standard installation of Ubuntu 14.04.1 the ethernet card is NOT working. Nevertheless I did try 3.16.7-031607-generic and 3.18.0-031800rc7-generic and the network card IS WORKING. Then some standard update to Ubuntu 14.04 stock kernel made it work too. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1332901] Re: gigabit ethernet card on ASUS N550JK not working at all
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.16 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance.
