[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1379823] Re: Logitech C920 Webcam does not create device anymore
This bug got a totally new direction: After trying 'modprobe uvcvideo' and getting an error message, I looked for the module file, and found /lib/modules/3.8.13.23/kernel/drivers/media/usb/uvc/uvcvideo.ko as 87920 bytes of zeroes. Some more modules across drivers/ subtree contained of zeros too. So this bug should be closed here. But where to file the issue now? Zeroed modules seem related to dpkg or apt I guess? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1379823 Title: Logitech C920 Webcam does not create device anymore Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: When plugging the Logitech C920 web cam on 3.8.13.23 armhf kernel, it is intialized. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1379823] Re: Logitech C920 Webcam does not create device anymore
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.17 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance.
