Actually last night I tried few more solutions on internet and after shutting down the system and then restarting it (not restart), suddenly the TOUCHPAD WORKED. And it Worked fine till today's noon. But I ran few commands in terminal (not related to touchpad or its drivers), and after rebooting the system it STOPPED WORKING again. However when it was working "/proc/bus/input/devices" command, detected "Synaptics Touchpad". But now when I run the same command it doesn't show any touchpad. I am surprised and worried. Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.18 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
