In Ubuntu 14.04, the touchpad would not work at all, as if it was not
present. Following the 14.10 upgrade, I am able to move the cursor and
lef-click, but still have the following issues:

1. I am unable to right-click
2. I am unable to move the cursor while the left-click button is depressed 
(meaning I am unable to drag things or resize windows)
3. The cursor stops working entirely if I wake the computer up from suspend

This bug seems to be related, but I was told to file a new one:
