[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1455870] Re: Suspend to RAM freeze when wawking up with linux image 3.19.0-16
Hi, I updated the bios and now I got the suspend-to-ram working with 3.19.0-16 kernel. Here is the output of the requested command : vincent@vincent-portable:~$ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date [sudo] password for vincent: 05NS 07/03/2010 Everything is working well, so I think this bug can be closed. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1455870] Re: Suspend to RAM freeze when wawking up with linux image 3.19.0-16
I'm gonna update the bios as you noticed me but unfortunatelly I can't update it through ubuntu. A windows OS is requested. So I need to set up an USB drive with a bootable windows xp OS to launch the update. I'll do this with virtualbox. I don't have enough time to do it now but I think it will be done by the end of the week. I'll update this bug status afterwards. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455870 Title: Suspend to RAM freeze when wawking up with linux image 3.19.0-16 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Hi all, I noticed with my laptop samsung r525 running a fresh install of kubuntu 15.04 that if I close the screen, the computer goes to suspend to RAM but when I try to wake it up, the computer starts again but the screen does not turn on. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1455870] Re: Suspend to RAM freeze when wawking up with linux image 3.19.0-16
Vincent, as per http://www.samsung.com/fr/support/model/NP-R525-JS01FR an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (05NS). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status Confirmed. Thank you for your understanding. ** Attachment removed: "1455870.apport" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1455870/+attachment/4398773/+files/1455870.apport -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455870 Title: Suspend to RAM freeze when wawking up with linux image 3.19.0-16 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Hi all, I noticed with my laptop samsung r525 running a fresh install of kubuntu 15.04 that if I close the screen, the computer goes to suspend to RAM but when I try to wake it up, the computer starts again but the screen does not turn on.
