[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1506898] Re: Ubuntu fails to connect to my wifi network/hotspot

2015-10-28 Thread Shankey
Ok so I have upgraded my kernel to 4.3-rc7. But when Ubuntu boots fully
It doesn’t detects my wifi card at all. There is no wifi at the network
manager and then i have recompiled the package through this link
"https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8188eu"; rebooted and after wifi
detected. when i connect it to my networks its having the same issue.
its keep on showing connecting status but never connected. And also its
signal strength is too low even in 4.3 rc7 kernel. Still wifi is
unstable/un-usable.

** Description changed:

I am having a serious issue with ubuntu 14.04x64 I am having "Realtek

problem is it fails to connect. It doesn’t connects at all..and also its
signal strength is very weak...I Had tried every solution but no
  success please solve this issue.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1506898] Re: Ubuntu fails to connect to my wifi network/hotspot

2015-10-25 Thread Shankey
OK Thanks for your assistance, I am unable to upgrade version to 4.2.4
as its the latest release (According to this link
https://www.kernel.org/) is because canonical has not provided x64 bit
binary packages. i don’t know why there is no x64bit binary packages but
in the Old ones it has. And am waiting for it So here is the below link.
Please pass on this message to other can came to know about it.

http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.2.4-unstable/

Well i have also applied software update as well as security update (there was
also new update of network manager) to my PC after that my wifi works!!!...But
signal strength remains too low..but when i turned off and after sometime
turned on MY desktop. Same thing happened WIFI Shows but it doesn’t connect to
any network . My internet became unusable again.

I will upgrade to the kernel as soon as possible and ill let u know
about That as well as its results.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1506898] Re: Ubuntu fails to connect to my wifi network/hotspot

2015-10-21 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Shankey, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from
the very top line at the top of the page from http://kernel.ubuntu.com
/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D (the release names are irrelevant for
testing, and please do not test the daily folder)? Install instructions
are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds . This
will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.

If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't
boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue
to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue.
Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version
specifically you tested. If this issue is fixed in the mainline kernel, please
add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil
icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Where X, Y, and Z are numbers corresponding to the kernel version.

If the mainline kernel does not fix the issue, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of
kernel-bug-exists-upstream.

Once testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, please mark this
report's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1506898] Re: Ubuntu fails to connect to my wifi network/hotspot

2015-10-21 Thread Shankey
As per your instructions I have successfully updated My BIOS from 1409
to 1801. I have downloaded the BIOS ROM from this link

http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=M2N68-AM+SE2&os=25

I have also Downloaded BIOS ROM from your Link but it was giving me the
following error

"rom id is incompatible with existing bios"

Then i had manually searched and downloaded the correct BIOS and updated
My BIOS here is the Output of terminal.

shankey@shankey-System-Product-Name:~$ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version
[sudo] password for shankey:
1801
shankey@shankey-System-Product-Name:~$ sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
06/08/2010

Even after the BIOS Update Still WIFI doesn’t work at all. I am unable
to connect through my WIFI network/Hotspot. I don’t know what’s wrong.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1506898] Re: Ubuntu fails to connect to my wifi network/hotspot

2015-10-20 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Shankey, as per
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M2N68AM_PLUS/HelpDesk_Download/ an
update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (1804).
If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the
output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible, and the
information above is provided, then please mark this report Status
Confirmed. Otherwise, please mark this as Invalid.

Thank you for your understanding.

2015-10-17 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Shankey, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you
please connect to ethernet, and execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 1506898

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
