[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1508944] Re: ring 0 stalled for more than 10100msec

2015-10-24 Thread Daryl Lublink
This ticket was created in confusion because I had logged in with two
different accounts.

Both 1507150 and 1508944 were opened by me. I closed 1507150 as it had
comments about updating the firmware to the latest. This ticket started
off cleanly with a 'ubuntu-bug linux' report that was made with the
latest bios firmware for the laptop.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1508944] Re: ring 0 stalled for more than 10100msec

2015-10-24 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
David, to advise, this is not your report, it is Daryl Lublink's, as he
is the original reporter. Yours is where you filed it ->
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1508944 . I
requested in your report (not this one) for information to be provided
in your report (which you have yet to comment to). By continuing to
cross post in two different reports, it is making it most confusing, and
stalling this report (and yours) from being resolved.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1508944] Re: ring 0 stalled for more than 10100msec

2015-10-24 Thread David
This ticket was filed using ubuntu-bug linux using the default kernel.

After that, you requested that I test against a mainline kernel, I did
that.

Now you want me to refile the ticket all over again?

This is the second ticket I opened, can you please clarify what I have
done wrong ?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1508944] Re: ring 0 stalled for more than 10100msec

2015-10-22 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Daryl Lublink, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better.

Could you please provide a log of when running this under the latest
mainline kernel, and provide a comment to if the PC locks up?

** Description changed:

- As requested by the Chris, I have refiled the bug #1507150 using the
- console 'ubuntu-bug linux' command.
-
- Original bug that was filed :
-
- My description :
-
The video card randomly locks up when radeon.dpm=1 is set as a kernel
  parameter on Radeon Mobile HD3650.

On Ubuntu 15.04, I can only reproduce it if I let the screen saver come
on while a browser is open ( either google chrome or firefox will do ).
