hi, Being subscriber to this bug and also experiencing it, may I add that suspend/resume/hibernate all worked quite well in 15.04 and 15.10? [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1576909] Re: Suspend not working on Ubuntu 16.04
saguti, the next step is to fully commit bisect from kernel 3.13 to 4.4 in order to identify the last good kernel commit, followed immediately by the first bad one. This will allow for a more expedited analysis of the root cause of your issue. Could you please do this following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection ? Please note, finding adjacent kernel versions is not fully commit bisecting. Also, the kernel release names are irrelevant for the purposes of bisecting. After the offending commit (not kernel version) has been identified, then please mark this report Status Confirmed. Thank you for your understanding. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1576909] Re: Suspend not working on Ubuntu 16.04
Hi. Tested with 4.7.0-040700rc2-generic. I tested the suspend even from the login screen (Before logging in), and the third time I tried to suspend, the screen goes black but disks and fans are still working and system does not go to suspension. The process of - suspend or hibernate works fine but when the computer is waken, screen - stays black and computer becomes unresponsive. + None of the options for suspend are working. The process of suspend + works fine but when the computer is waken, screen stays black and + computer becomes unresponsive. - Installation of packets such as hibernate and/or uswsusp create a bigger - problem as the computer freezes during boot process. + Installation of packets such as uswsusp create a bigger problem as the + computer freezes during boot process.
