A new user is probably not going to take the time to google the problem, find this and related bugs, and create a specific file with specific options in order to make the system usable. Having the light flash in your face is not the default behavior in other OSes. I would consider it a real bug. That said, I get your point. This is also a legacy driver and will probably go away eventually. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1621725] Re: iwlegacy/iwl3945 driver flashes LED on traffic by default
David Dombrowsky, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Regarding the LED blinking when WiFi traffic is occurring, while you may find this annoying, and it could be many others find this also, this being the default action it isn't considered a software bug. Given the fact you have an option to turn it off in software, you also have a way to address the issue as you see fit. If anything, the LED light installed into the laptop would be brighter than preferred, making this a manufacturer design issue you have. Please feel free to report any future bugs you may find. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1621725 Title: iwlegacy/iwl3945 driver flashes LED on traffic by default Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: This bug is still present in 16.04.
