[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1696693] Re: Mousepad/trackpad not working
Hi guys, Please bear with me but I'm not very technical with Ubuntu stuff. I've been looking for a solution for over a day, tried solutions I've found here and there, but I can't figure it out. As for kernel versions; I honestly don't understand what a kernel is, nor how to boot an older one. @jsalisbury Ubuntu's software updater did install some updates, and I figure the issue is related to an updated driver that doesn't work. The link you provided me contains many download links, I'm not sure which file to download from here? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1696693 Title: Mousepad/trackpad not working Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Hi, I booted my pc this morning and found that the trackpad is no longer responding. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1696693] Re: Mousepad/trackpad not working
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.12 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance.
