Title:
HDMI doesn't work with kernel 4.4
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I recently upgraded my Ubuntu version from 15.10 to 16.04. I know, I
should have done this earlier, but whenever I upgrade there's always
something that doesn't work afterwards. This time it's HDMI. I first
noticed the problem when trying to use the projector at work. Weirdly,
if I go to display settings the projector is detected there it's just
that nothing shows up. Even more weirdly, using a HDMI to VGA adaptor
works fine and similarly using a HDMI to DVI adaptor with my monitor
also works fine. So I initially put it down to a fault with the cable
or the projector. But then I found the same issue with my TV using
other cables. Upon restarting my laptop, I noticed that grub displays
fine. I then tried loading up using kernel 4.2.0-42-generic and that
works fine so it seems that this is just a problem with kernel 4.4.
