[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1784249] Re: Typecover driver not loading before full disk decryption prompt

2018-08-05 Thread Hen Ogledd
** Description changed:

I installed Ubuntu on a MicroSD card in a Microsoft Surface Pro in
order to arrive at a dual boot installation. I followed these great
instructions to make sure key partitions were full disk encrypted.

I expected to be able to enter my disk (de)encryption password at boot
in order to continue booting into Ubuntu and Gnome.

Unfortunately, I could not type from the Surface Pro typecover to enter
  the disk decryption password.

As a workaround, I plug in a USB keyboard - which allows me to enter the
password and boot normally into Ubuntu. After entering the password, I
can remove the USB keyboard and load the OS where typing from the
Surface Pro typecover works fine (on it now).

If I enter Grub menu/prompt before this decryption prompt, the typecover
works fine...but seems to stop working after the Grub menu.
