[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1804592] Re: usb usb2: We don't know the algorithms for LPM for this host, disabling LPM.

2023-06-13 Thread beadon
I have identified this as a RAZER Core X Chroma USB port available
across the Thunderbolt 3 connection.

By disconnecting and connecting I see the mfg is set , and this is
indeed on the RAZER Core X Chroma, device 8:

I suppose RAZER could tell us what's going on here... or if someone know where
LPM profiles are managed, I could possible mock up a LPM profile for this
device available across Thunderbolt , but this is likely not a limited case.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1804592] Re: usb usb2: We don't know the algorithms for LPM for this host, disabling LPM.

2023-06-13 Thread beadon
Appearing in Ubuntu 22.04 as well:

[Mon Jun 12 12:59:44 2023] usb usb8: We don't know the algorithms for LPM
for this host, disabling LPM.
[Mon Jun 12 12:59:44 2023] usb usb8: New USB device found, idVendor=1d6b,
idProduct=0003, bcdDevice= 6.02

[Mon Jun 12 12:59:44 2023] usb usb8: Manufacturer: Linux 6.2.0-20-generic
xhci-hcd
[Mon Jun 12 12:59:44 2023] usb usb8: SerialNumber: :56:00.0

This is coming from a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6. I believe this means that
the USB controller is simply not identifying itself ? Does this mean we need
to contact the mfg to get a firmware patch to have the USB controller(s)
identify themselves correctly ?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1804592] Re: usb usb2: We don't know the algorithms for LPM for this host, disabling LPM.

2018-11-26 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.20 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.
