I just found that I'm actually on a testing kernel instead of generic :

 dpkg --list | grep linux-image
ii  linux-image-unsigned-5.0.0-37-generic  5.0.0-37.41+redmiv3  
   amd64Linux kernel image for version 5.0.0 on 64 bit x86 
SMP

This was to fix the issue I raised before:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1846148

However the wireless also had problem with wireless but I didn't keep track of 
that bug.
I guess the fix for both the linked issue and wireless are in this test kernel 
that I'm using.

  after that booted with kernerl 5.4 LTS

  Wireless connection keep on asking for password or encryption keys for
  wi-fi which are already linked properly with 5.0.0-37-generic.

  Laptop: Redmi Book 14 2019

  lsb_release -rd
  Description:  Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
  Release:  18.04

  
  uname -r
  5.0.0-37-generic
