[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1944018] Re: ath11k_pci sometimes crashes on suspend/resume on Dell XPS 13 9310

2022-02-07 Thread Nigini
Matt, double-thank you for pointing out the OEM kernel versioning system
I had no idea existed. Plus, I have been testing the C kernel for two
weeks now and had no issues with the WIFI waking up.

(I had, though, an issue with the Bluetooth not reconnecting my devices
correctly a couple of times -- a different issue that may be related to
the current patch(?) -- but it can be solved with turning BT off and on
again.)

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1944018] Re: ath11k_pci sometimes crashes on suspend/resume on Dell XPS 13 9310

2022-01-23 Thread Matt Austin
It appears installing linux-oem-20.04c resolves this issue for me (it
installs kernel 5.13).

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1944018] Re: ath11k_pci sometimes crashes on suspend/resume on Dell XPS 13 9310

2022-01-23 Thread Nigini
It seems there is a patch for the 5.13 kernel:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215103

This is a very annoying bug that makes one re-start the machine every
couple of days because, as Matt said above, you cannot manually restart
the module.

I should also note that after this happens, attempting to "rmmod
ath11k_pci" results in a wait of several minutes before then getting a
segmentation fault error.
