Yeah I was wrong too. Each time I thought a kernel update or even monitor firmware update fixed it, my problem came back eventually. Seems to be related to how good my USB-C connection is. Even confirmed the same problem on a second identical monitor, and with multiple different cables. Oh man. This turned out to be a hardware issue. A replacement adapter works fine. I'd never have thought, when the kernel changed so much. I'm on 5.19 now, didn't see a glitch yet, where I'd normally couldn't work. It's a shame 5.19-rc2 didn't build because we really need to narrow it down further to a last known GOOD kernel.
