Thanks Nick! It now points to 5.0.2. However, it still includes the
Eagle crash warning. We should probably remove that as well.

Looks like the Windows download website[1] still needs to be updated.
5.0.2_1 is in the stable directory but not linked yet.

The two macOS builds were successful, and I'll be uploading them within 2

seem OK, and then we can say they're good!

Please note that these do have the dark mode patch cherrypicked.

Re: [Kicad-developers] 5.0.2 stable release.

2018-12-07 Thread Maciej Suminski
There is one more macOS-specific patch that probably should have been
included in 5.0.2 to address problems with Mojave dark mode. As far as I
understand, it does not require a rebuild, only replacement of
configuration files.

Adam, do you think you can still add the patch to the macOS package? I
apologize for late notice, I was sure that the patch had been merged a
long time ago.

Cheers,
Orson

The Fedora build has +2 karma - thanks to Seth and Inie! One more +plus1 vote
and we can move from testing to released. Or we'll just wait 6 days and it

Re: [Kicad-developers] 5.0.2 stable release.

2018-12-04 Thread Steven A. Falco
Yes, the community can help. The only barrier is that you need a Fedora login
in order to leave karma. It is pretty easy to get a login - just visit:

https://admin.fedoraproject.org/accounts/

and click on the "New Account" link.

You can download the KiCad 5.0.2 packages here (even without a login):

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1168820

There are rpms for ARM (both 32- and 64-bit) as well as for X86 (again 32- and
64-bit). You can test one (or more) of the arches, in either a Fedora 29 VM or
on a real system. You would then enter your karma here:

https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2018-40a9391ac3

How does a package get karma? Can the community perhaps help out in some
way?

On 04/12/18 19:57, Steven A. Falco wrote:

updates-testing repo as soon as a release engineer pushes it along - usually
that takes a day or two.

After that, if it receives enough (positive) karma, it will move into the
updates repo.

I'll note that last time (for 5.0.1), there was insufficient karma, so the
5.0.1 build had to sit for an extra week in the updates-testing repo before it
became eligible for promotion to the updates repo.

2018-12-04 Thread Steven A. Falco
My build of kicad-5.0.2-1.fc29 has completed in the Fedora buildsystem, and
I've submitted it for testing. Thus, the build should show up in the
updates-testing repo as soon as a release engineer pushes it along - usually
that takes a day or two.

After that, if it receives enough (positive) karma, it will move into the
updates repo.

I'll note that last time (for 5.0.1), there was insufficient karma, so the
5.0.1 build had to sit for an extra week in the updates-testing repo before it
became eligible for promotion to the updates repo.

2018-12-04 Thread Nick Østergaard
Everything looks good for me in regard to packaging, so it should
probably be good for others.

I have uploaded previews ready for testing on
http://downloads.kicad-pcb.org/windows/testing/

It is the kicad-5.0.2_1-i686.exe and kicad-5.0.2_1-x86_64.exe builds.

Please don't hesitate to test them. If there are no issues I will move
them to the stable folder.

Re: [Kicad-developers] 5.0.2 stable release.

2018-12-03 Thread Rene Pöschl
I am a bit out of the loop sadly as i had quite a busy month behind me
(new job plus some old responsibilities)

I created an issue over at the symbol repo. [1] Both to ask the other
librarians and for a place to report design breaking changes. (A few
symbols have been changed since 5.0.1 it seems.)
If there are no objections then i will tag tomorrow morning before i go
to work (~06:45 CET)
A word of warning: My internet seems to be a bit unstable. If i do not
tag tomorrow then it might have been broken completely.

Hey Steve,

I went ahead and pushed the source archive so you should be able to
download it now. You will still have to wait for the library repos to
get tagged but I'm guessing the are packaged separately on most if not
all linux distros.

The link is based on what I was using for 5.0.0, 5.0.1, etc. I'd guess that as
soon as you upload the source archive, the link will start working.

Once I see your release announcement, I'll start the process of building the
official Fedora packages.

Re: [Kicad-developers] 5.0.2 stable release.

2018-11-26 Thread Nick Østergaard
Are we expecting to tag 5.0.1 as 5.0.2 for the libraries or are we
getting a minor library update as well?

I just noticed a few last minute changes were made to the 5.0 branch.
Is there anything else pending or am I good to go with tagging 5.0.2?

Cheers,

Wayne

It would be nice if they would do the same thing with wxPython as well
so we could continue to provide users with a complete Python scripting
solution on Debian based distros.

today the Debian maintainers ox the wxWidgets packages gave a short
information on the current status about the GTK+3 functions and usage in
the Debian packages of wxWidgets. Maybe something interesting for you as
this also has impact on all downstreams distro?

I tested this board on W7-32bits with the current 5.01 master (AKA
5.02), and no crash.

Hi Wayne-

I'm not sure what is going on with [1]. It doesn't recreate on Linux or
Mac but OP has posted a board and procedure. If it can be recreated on
MSW, I think we should address it before 5.0.2
