*Required Technical Skills*

§   A solid knowledge of iOS V5R3 operating system and IBM, i5 and/or Power
6 hardware is essential

§   Highly developed knowledge of IBM's LPAR and HMC technologies

§   Specific experience with IBM i570 and/or i595 server models

§   Experience with IBM PowerVM, specifically processor virtualization

§   Experience working with system tools such iDoctor products, PEX, and
JobWatcher

§   Experience with performance tools such as BRMS and iNav

§   Experience writing RPG, CL and SQL queries, and API’s



*Preferred Technical Skills*

§   Experience with IBM Change Data Capture (CDC) Formerly known as Data
Mirror

§   Experience with Vision’s OMS/ODS product suite

§   Experience with LTO-4 and tape libraries

§   Experience with OS upgrades to V6R1

§   Experience installing PTFs

§   Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and/or implementation

*Responsibilities*

§   Responsible for day to day administration of iOS operating systems and
iSeries hardware**

§   Install patch sets and new/additional hardware

§   Implement hardware and software upgrades

§   DASD monitoring and cleanup

§   Implement maintenance activities as directed, to include but not limited
to device and object cleanup, subsystem maintenance and memory tuning
activities.

§   Write routine reports for documentation, informational or status
reporting requirements.

§   Perform maintenance for all iSeries servers within the technology
infrastructure to ensure a high degree of availability

§   Create and maintain documentation

§   Must be available to work nights and weekend to perform support and
maintenance tasks as deemed necessary

§   Perform Root Cause Analysis on failing infrastructure components and
implement corrective measures to

 rectify problems with those components

§   Identify and resolve application/infrastructure problems and provide
performance tuning services when applicable

§   Work closely with all technical teams to ensure good communication &
knowledge transfer

§   Monitor system logs and utilize system tools to ensure performance and
service delivery expectations are met

§   Provide customer support as the technology owner

§   Respond and react to critical situations as reported by Production
Operations TEC events

§   Third Party Software upgrades (this would include Vision, Broderick,
Help Systems, etc…)
