Yesterday I was doing some staff training and noticed that if I issue a book to a patron and on the same day renew it, the date keeps rolling forward instead of renewing to the same date. For example, I issued a 1 week loan to a patron yesterday, original due date 25th July. I renewed it yesterday the first time, instead of the due date remaining the 25th, it was now 1st August. Second time, 8th August. Third time 15th August. Is there anything in the circ rules (or anywhere else for that matter!) to stop this happening? If any of our students realise it will do this I can envisage them renewing their items several times immediately to get longer loans before other students can place holds. Hi Lisa Yes there is, in system preferences, you can choose whether a renewal acts on todays date, or on the due date. It sounds to me like you have it set to use the existing due date to calculate the new due date. Hope this helps Chris ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha

Re: [Koha] How to extract tag 050 data only in marcxml field from biblioitems table
If you have the right version of MySQL you can use the MarcExtract in your query to grab the 050 - some tips here: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/SQL_Reports_Library#Query_MARC Nicole On Tue, Jul 19, 2011 at 10:22 AM, Yohannes Mulugeta yohannesm...@gmail.com wrote: Dear folks, I'm using Koha ver 3.2. After migrating the bibliographic records from verion 2.4 to the Koha 2.9 and then Koha 3.2, the classification field which we used to store our call number is not available in the current biblioitems table. So, is there a way to select the call number data (tag 050) only from marcxml or marc field in the biblioitem table. Becuase most of our call number were stored in the older version of Koha, classification.biblioitems, are not available in Koha version 3.2. As a result the itemcallnumber field is almost empty. Re: [Koha] Need with suppression report
Hi Kathy - I just checked and this report should run perfectly... Actually I just tested it on your system. When you see an error like that - usually that means there was a space in-front of the 'SELECT'. That will throw that error. I've added it to your system it's report id #1085. -Brendan On Jul 19, 2011, at 2:04 PM, Kathy Rippel wrote: I am trying to do a report of all items in a certain location that is NOT suppressed. However, I can't get this report to run, as is. I've tried some minor changes, but I keep getting an error message that says The following error was encountered: The database returned the following error: 1 Please check the log for further details. The password would be set up at install time. On debian, the installer asks to set up the root user's password while installing the mysql-server package. This may be different for other distros / OSes. You are expected to use that password here. -- Mahesh T. Pai || DICTIONARY, n.
