[Koha] Anyone still running 2.2 ?

2011-08-03 Thread Paul Poulain
Hello Koha,

is there anyone around still running 2.2 ? We have a (old) patch to fix
some glitches with migration from 2.2 to 3.x, is it worth dealing with it ?

If you still run 2.2, please reply to this mail !

I know of a lot in Malaysia, and the Philipine. Plus there are a lot
of windows users around the world who stayed with 2.2.x

[Koha] volunteer to identify Koha features

2011-08-03 Thread Lori Bowen Ayre
Hi All,

I'm working on a project to develop a comprehensive Koha Feature List. I'm
also doing it for Evergreen. I have a first draft of the Evergreen features
and I'd like to use that list as the source for my Koha list. What I need
is someone (or someones) who could volunteer some time to review the
Evergreen feature and give me a quick yes or no (or don't know) for those
features that are also present in Koha.

If you know Koha, this should go quickly for you. And any help is provided.
If you are willing to get a list of 10, 50, 100 Evergreen features from me
that you could indicate whether they are also Koha features or notthat
would be awesome.

Let me know if you are willing and how many I can send you!

[Koha] QSOS.org and Koha

2011-08-03 Thread Lori Bowen Ayre
I just stumbled upon a site called QSOS.org that evaluates open source
projects and I note that it evaluated Koha 3.0 residing at www.koha-fr.org.

I'm wondering if anyone (Paul perhaps) knows how to get the most current
version of Koha evaluated (and perhaps point them to the community website
while we're at it.

[Koha] Database upgrade funniness

2011-08-03 Thread Nicole Engard
I just did a fetch on my install of master and got the upgrade db
page. But this time the page said something funny:

"We are upgrading from Koha 3.05.00.004 to 3.05.00.004, you must
update your database"

There is no difference in those versions and nothing was actually
changed (at least not according to the screen). Is there a typo that
was pushed? Or did I have a problem in my system?

Nevermind - it was a patch that I was testing (not the fetch) and that
patch has an updatedatabase with a real number in it - that should not
happen!

[Koha] Anyone migrated from Libraryworld Gold 3.2?

2011-08-03 Thread Hollis Near
Hello,

We recently signed with ByWater Solutions to host Koha for us and are currently
migrating from LibraryWorld Gold v.3.2 for Windows. (The locally hosted,
stand-alone product. Not their current web catalog.)

Miscellaneous patron records, that we know we deleted in LibraryWorld, are
showing up in Koha. We cannot determine how many, yet.

Has anyone experienced something similar and possibly have some tips for
dealing with it?

Many thanks and glad to be joining the community.

[Koha] Problems after upgrade to 3.4.3

2011-08-03 Thread Olugbenga Adara
Hello all,

I have just finished an upgrade from 3.2.10 to 3.4.3 and after the upgrade, ran
the remove_items_from_biblioitems.pl script. I had the following error
repeatedly - use of uninitialized value in pattern match (m//) . After the
script completed, I re-indexed zebra and ran a search from the OPAC, I got
results but every biblio in all the results always say item is not available,
despite the items being displayed in the details page.

Also circulating books give the error - "Can't call method "subfield" on an
undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Biblio.pm line 2835." even though
checking the patron's record later shows the book has been successfully checked
out.

Is there a way i can verify that the items were successfully removed from
biblioitems?

One thing with this installation is that the Marc - Koha mappings are not the
standard Koha ones. the install has been coming from 2.2.9 and I had to modify
record.abs to get zebra to work.

Any tip/suggestion to get the problem solved will be appreciated.

Regards

[Koha] Can't call method "subfield" error

2011-08-03 Thread nreese
Hi all,

I have searched for an answer for this - a lot of people seem to discuss
this type of error, but there is no answer to what the problem actually
means.

I have a vanilla install of 3.4.02 on openSuse 11.4. Everything seems to
work fine, until we try to commit the data to to the database, and we get
the following error:

Can't call method "subfield" on an undefined value at
/usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Biblio.pm line 2835

This is the code in Bilblio.pm :

# Get the indexes
my %index;
my $title;
if ( $server eq 'biblioserver' ) {
%index = GetNoZebraIndexes;

# get title of the record (to store the 10 first letters with the
index)
my ( $titletag, $titlesubfield ) = GetMarcFromKohaField(
'biblio.title', '' );# FIXME: should be GetFrameworkCode($biblionumber)
??
$title = lc( $record->subfield( $titletag, $titlesubfield ) );
*THIS IS LINE 2835*
} else {

# warn "server : $server";
# for authorities, the "title" is the $a mainentry
my ( $auth_type_tag, $auth_type_sf ) =
C4::AuthoritiesMarc::get_auth_type_location();
my $authref = C4::AuthoritiesMarc::GetAuthType( $record->subfield(
$auth_type_tag, $auth_type_sf ) );
warn "ERROR : authtype undefined for " . $record->as_formatted
unless $authref;
$title = $record->subfield( $authref->{auth_tag_to_report}, 'a' );
$index{'mainmainentry'} = $authref->{auth_tag_to_report} . 'a';
$index{'mainentry'} = $authref->{auth_tag_to_report} . '*';
$index{'auth_type'} = "${auth_type_tag}${auth_type_sf}";
}

Cheers,

Nick

And, as another poster has stated, it /does/ add the item to the database.

BTW - I have even tried changing the Koha to MARC mapping for that field,
and it still gives the error.
