[Koha] 3.8.0 acquisitions error
While trying upgrading koha from 3.6.4 to 3.8.0 following problem was incurred: In acquisitions, when receiving a book which is ordered to x vendor it does not allow to create items though in system preferences AcqCreateItem is set to create an item when receiving an order. The receive screen does not have any item creation option. Acquisitions Framework is as well created in MARC bibliographic framework. Has anybody experienced this problem. Is there any way to add shipping costs while ordering/receiving an item. reg Sunita Barve ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha

[Koha] Manual Help
Hi all, Can someone tell me on this list: http://manual.koha-community.org/3.8/en/notices.html#existingnotices which cron job (http://manual.koha-community.org/3.8/en/cronjobsch.html#noticescron) controls the sending of which notice? I think it would help if I enhanced the documentation with that info, but I'm not 100% sure on each of them so I'd like some expert input. [Koha] Question about Overdue email notices
Hello everyone, Thanks for the help with the HOLDS issue yesterday.thought I'd try a different topic today. We have already enabled overdue email notices and they seem to be working but I'm wondering if someone can explain exactly how they work (who gets them, when) and answer a question about possibly copying our Librarian on all overdue email notices. So, here's how I think it works.can someone just verify this is correct, please? - If we have the patron's email address, only they get the overdue notice - If we have no email address for a patron, the Librarian's email address gets the overdue notice If this is correct, is it possible to configure Koha 3.2.2 to CC: the Librarian on overdue notices when we have the patron's email address? If not, is there some report we can run to show overdue messages that have gone out or some log file I can look at, just so that we can verify that overdue notices are indeed processing/working? Thanks, as always! Steve ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha
[Koha] subdomain (not port)
So, we need to create a subdomain for folks to search our catalog from outside the firewall. Does anyone have a sample virtualhost file they are willing to let us use as a sample to copy? Thanx. Re: [Koha] data migration from libsys to koha
Amit, which are the source and destination formats involved in the migration? MARC21? UNIMARC? Other? What kind of items? Books, serials...? MARCedit ( http://people.oregonstate.edu/~reeset/marcedit/html/index.php ) is a nice tool for editing MARC records. You can arrange your records there in order to match a few Koha local tags such as item type or library branch. These are required by Koha to work properly. Please keep in mind that some Koha tags vary between MARC flavors. This guide refers to MARC21: http://manual.koha-community.org/3.8/en/catguides.html#id408716 ; you might have to change tag 952 according to your MARC flavor (Koha handles UNIMARC holdings data in tag 995). Check your MARC Bibliographic Framework in the backend Administration area for that. I hope that helps. Regards, Fabio 2012/5/2 vinod kumar vinod.kumar@gmail.com Dear Amit sorry no idea for data migration. And it is not proper shows all information like accession numbers etc. That is my current status. Can anybody help me to properly tag mapping for koha in .mrk files. Re: [Koha] Recovering circulation history
Holly, this is my idea, perhaps others have better ones. I suppose that the items (deleted and recovered), are not issued. And the history I will try to reconstruct is for the old_issues table. The following SQL code needs a barcode ( highlighted), then search issues date and the first return date, and it's output could be used to fill the old_issues table. SELECT a.borrowernumber AS borrowernumber, a.itemnumber AS itemnumber, NULL AS date_due, a.branch AS branchcode, NULL AS issuingbranch, date(b.datetime) AS returndate, NULL AS lastrenewdate, NULL AS `return`, NULL AS renewals, b.datetime AS timestamp, date(a.datetime) AS issuedate FROM statistics AS a, statistics AS b WHERE b.datetime = (SELECT datetime FROM statistics WHERE datetime a.datetime AND type = 'return' AND borrowernumber = a.borrowernumber AND itemnumber = a.itemnumber LIMIT 1) AND a.itemnumber = (SELECT itemnumber FROM items WHERE barcode = 'X') AND a.type = 'issue' ORDER BY issuedate; You could check the output with a barcode with known history to verify. There are some null values, but can't be recovered from statistics, and lose track of renewals. Next, if you are brave, backup your old_issues table and do the following (*only once*) for each deleted barcode: INSERT INTO old_issues SELECT a.borrowernumber AS borrowernumber, a.itemnumber AS itemnumber, NULL AS date_due, a.branch AS branchcode, NULL AS issuingbranch, DATE(b.datetime) AS returndate, NULL AS lastrenewdate, NULL AS `return`, NULL AS renewals, b.datetime AS timestamp, DATE(a.datetime) AS issuedate FROM statistics AS a, statistics AS b WHERE b.datetime = (SELECT datetime FROM statistics WHERE datetime a.datetime AND type = 'return' AND borrowernumber = a.borrowernumber AND itemnumber = a.itemnumber LIMIT 1) AND a.itemnumber = (SELECT itemnumber FROM items WHERE barcode = 'X') AND a.type = 'issue' ORDER BY issuedate; This must be done working directly with the database, and could take a while (statistics is a big table) Hope that someone could get a better idea.
