[Koha] Data Migration
I intend to migrate data from Koha 3.02.05.000 to Koha 3.8. The data is on machine running Ubuntu 10.10 (Koha3.2) and data will be migrated to machine running Debian Squeeze (Koha 3.8). I am requesting the Koha community to point me in the right direction on how to accomplish this mammoth task. [Koha] Excel to MARC - Marcedit 5.8
Respected All I am trying to convert the data of 5 books ( Marathi, Hindi, English), Marathi Hindi data I have converted to Unicode through Suvidha software. I am using MarcEdit for converting the data from Excel to Marc but facing the following error system.data.oledb.oledbexception (0X80004005): Make sure that it does not include invalid characters I already have deleted the characters like , : ! - . Here is (below) the content of the zebra error file. Would you please have a
look at it and tell me if there are things which could explain why
zebra-rebuild stops working now and then? There is that DBIconnect error, but
I am not sure it's related. And there is no time day in the error file, so I
can't check what happened when zebra rebuild doesn't work properly. (I have
removed all the multiple duplicates...)

Ahh that is not the zebra error log. But the rebuild zebra one. I think you may
be confusing zebra with the job to rebuild the zebra indexes, they are 2 quite
different things.
However not being able to talk to the database is a fatal error for the rebuild
zebra script. The database failing will also cause all sorts of other errors. I
would get your tech people to look at your database set up. Something very bad
is going wrong there.

[Koha] Mysqldump and Ubuntu
Kia ora, I have spent a good deal of time getting mysqldump to work for me, partly because I am not an expert. Finally, I found out that Ubuntu (I installed this instance from KohaLiveCD) requires the format mysqldump --user=myuser --password=mypassword kohamysql_backup.sql this differs from the example in the wiki mysqldump -u myuser -p mypassword koha mydatadump.sql I thought I'd add this knowledge to the wiki but then thought perhaps I should check on this list first in case I make a fool of myself (again). Comments anyone?
