Re: [Koha] koha-index-daemon

2012-09-24 Thread sunil sharma
Dear Friend,

 /etc/init.d/koha-index-daemon: line 67: log_daemon_msg: command not found
/etc/init.d/koha-index-daemon: line 68: daemon: command not found
  /etc/init.d/koha-index-daemon: line 71: log_end_msg: command not found

Both log_daemon_msg and log_end_msg commands belong to LSB-related
packages. On Debian/Ubuntu that would be lsb-core. On RedHat derivates
it might be redhat-lsb. As for the daemon command, I can't tell.

I checked out the redhat-lsb package on my centos 6.2 machine, the package
is already installed and the newest.
My 2nd error of line 68: daemon: command not found is resolved after
installing the daemon-tool as told by Mr.Bernardo.

But the two errors of line 67 71 remains as it is, i.e.

 /etc/init.d/koha-index-daemon: line 67: log_daemon_msg: command not found
 /etc/init.d/koha-index-daemon: line 71: log_end_msg: command not found

Can You or anybody else please help me in this regard to solve out my
problem.

*Thanx in Advance*,

*Sunil*

2012-09-24 Thread Bernardo Gonzalez Kriegel

But the two errors of line 67 71 remains as it is, i.e.

  /etc/init.d/koha-index-daemon: line 67: log_daemon_msg: command not found
  /etc/init.d/koha-index-daemon: line 71: log_end_msg: command not found

The system expects that this two functions were defined on
/lib/lsb/init-functions.
In my centos system that archive corresponds to the package redhat-lsb.
Have you that package installed?

If you have the file, but not the functions then you can add similar ones
as suggested at (
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-software-2/using-debian-start-stop-daemon-on-centos-680223/
)

Regards,
Bernardo

There is a long story behind this, but this video hopefully will help
you: http://bywatersolutions.com/2012/01/11/managing-lost-statuses-in-koha-3-6/

You can add Lost back in to the framework I think by editing your 952 field.

Thank you for information you gave me. Yes it possible to edit individual item
in such way, but if you will going to make bulk edit, suppose after inventory
you make number books or lib item as lost, or missing.

How do we do that?

[Koha] ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/*mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

2012-09-24 Thread Samuel Desseaux

Hi

I have a problem while installing koha on a machine (i install with
debian package)

I have this message ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL
server through socket '/var/run/*mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

What i don't understand is

mysql well running

$ service mysql status
/usr/bin/mysqladmin Ver 8.42 Distrib 5.1.49, for debian-linux-gnu on x86_64
Copyright 2000-2008 MySQL AB, 2008 Sun Microsystems, Inc.

Server version 5.1.49-3
Protocol version10
Connection Localhost via UNIX socket
UNIX socket /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock
Uptime: 2 min 12 sec

Threads: 2 Questions: 842 Slow queries: 0 Opens: 135 Flush tables:
1 Open tables: 32 Queries per second avg: 6.378.

no problem when i restart

$ service mysql restart
Stopping MySQL database server: mysqld.
Starting MySQL database server: mysqld.
Checking for corrupt, not cleanly closed and upgrade needing tables..

But, the problem could come from that

$locate libmysqlclient.so
/usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so.16
/usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so.16.0.0

As the debian package include mysql-server5.1, there may be a conflict.

How can i fix this problem?

best regards

samuel

[Koha] Introduction and Support Request

2012-09-24 Thread David Hale
Hello All,

My name is David Hale, I am an IT Admin for a small charter high school in
Utah, USA. I started here in this position about 4 months ago and the Admin
prior setup a Koha server for our library system. The System is running on
our win 2003 server, in a Virtual box VM with Ubuntu 10.04. The only
instructions that were left to me regarding this system were to boot it,
and it would take care of the rest. That was the case for the final two
weeks of last school year, but i haven't been able to get it to come up
this year, and I am unable to see what might be causing the issue. The VM
has an IP address, IT pings our Default Gateway, so I know the networking
is functioning, but all I seem to get is a VM with a Koha desktop
background. I cannot find any reference to a server application nor do I
see any database file.

I am wholly unfamiliar with the nature of the application, so I am hoping
for some enlightenment on how this operates, how I can verify that the
database of out Library is still in the VM machine, and where I can try and
activate the server software to give access to the students. If it is
feasible, I would like to backup the database, and I could re-setup the VM
and import the database into the new machine.

My thanks in advance, and please tell me if this is the right place to be
asking these questions, I am sorry for my ignorance.

Thanks
David Hale
