[Koha] Blocking users...

2012-11-21 Thread A . Şenol Armağan
Hi all,

We are using KOHA but we have a problem. KOHA, prohibits those who returned
late. How do I disarm it? Koha directories do not have enough information about
it.

- Patron has had overdue items and is blocked for 21 day (s).

(We use the version of Koha 3.0609000).

Thank you.

Hi,

make sure that you haven't defined 'fines in days' in your circulation rules in
the administration module.

Hope that helps,

Sounds like you have suspensions enabled. Check your "Circulation and
fines rules" and look for the column "Suspension in days (day)".
Anything other than a 0 in there will be blocking your patrons

I tried that. For example, undergraduate students marked as 0. I tried to
borrow again. It did not work.

(I wonder, after returning all books should have tried do?)

If you think the book has already lent active settings, will you?

2012-11-21 Thread Samuel Desseaux

Hi,

I've a technical question about ldap.

My connexion with the ldap is enabled. The mapping is correct but we
would like to use "SupannAliasLogin" instead of "uid".

Why? Our uid is like this [year of entry in the school]+supannAliasLogin

example:2012desseauxs

I don't know how to do and i i have to change the principal name

Actually, we have the following configuration

Re: [Koha] [Koha-devel] ldap / uid

2012-11-21 Thread Travis Elliott Davis
Samuel,

If you want to map the userid field in Koha to "SupannAliasLogin" from your
ldap configuration simply change to .

If you are asking how to bind on SupannAliasLogin you should be able to perform
the step above and in the principal name field just enter %s and nothing else.
That will try and bind on the username without joining any other strings.

Re: [Koha] Problem in importing Patron Records

2012-11-21 Thread Elaine Bradtke
Here's what I'm getting (in 3.08.05):
Feedback:

Parsing upload file Patron upload test2.csv
Content-Type : application/octet-stream
Content-Disposition : form-data; name="uploadborrowers";
filename="Patron upload test2.csv"
headerrow : CARDNUMBER, SURNAME, FIRSTNAME, TITLE, INITIALS, ADDRESS,
ADDRESS2, CITY, ZIPCODE, COUNTRY, EMAIL, PHONE, BRANCHCODE,
CATEGORYCODE, DATEEXPIRY

Error analysis:

Line 2 Critical field "surname" missing (borrowernumber: UNDEF; surname: UNDEF).
Line 2 Critical field "branchcode" missing (borrowernumber: UNDEF;
surname: UNDEF).
Line 2 Critical field "categorycode" missing (borrowernumber: UNDEF;
surname: UNDEF).

It's all there.
Is Koha expecting the fields in a particular order? I'm supplying the
header row (above). But it's not connecting the two somehow. I have
tried with and without quotes around the fields, neither seems to
work.

Re: [Koha] Problem in importing Patron Records

2012-11-21 Thread Elaine Bradtke
I have to set up a system to convert information from our membership
list into patron files on a monthly basis to catch expired
memberships. I run the file through a database called Cardbox for
batch editing. Cardbox exports have never cause any problems with csv
formatting before.
As an experiment, I ran the Cardbox csv file through (an old version
of) excel and exported a new csv file. But it didn't help, and in
fact broke the date formatting (deleting the zero padding).

We are using the same date format as is set in our system preferences
(dd/mm/). For some patrons there is no expiration date (life
members). Would this be a problem - are expiration dates required?
Must I convert it to -mm-dd ? (the notes on patron import seem to
imply it's OK to use your specified date format).

We have been using Koha for 3-4? years.
Works great.we currently use it in one 4-5 grade building, but plan on
moving our HS and MS to it as well.

Almost no issues.every now and then I have to run a "rebuild" when
biblios get deleted out of the database other than that.it's truly
plug it and forget it (and I could probably CRON that rebuildbut I just
never get around to it).

Dear Elaine

Can you share the patron excel file and also check the under system
configuration "BorrowerMandatoryField" which are the fields mandatory, for
uploading purpose you can remove those mandatory fields and try uploading
the patron records. Regarding the borrowernumber, What i used to do is
manually enter the borrowernumber (use the excel feature of auto numbering).

Line 2 Critical field "surname" missing (borrowernumber: UNDEF; surname:
UNDEF). > If Surname is mandatory field and any one row is missing the
surname data, Koha will show error.
Line 2 Critical field "branchcode" missing (borrowernumber: UNDEF; surname:
UNDEF). - check the branchcode in the .CSV file and the branchcode you have
defined in Koha, if both are not matching it will show error or if .CSV have
a new branch code it will again show you error.
Line 2 Critical field "categorycode" missing (borrowernumber: UNDEF;
surname: UNDEF). = same as branchcode error - you have not defined the
catagorycode in the Koha setting.

Re: [Koha] Problem in importing Patron Records

2012-11-21 Thread Fischer, Katrin
Hi Elaine,

I think it's not the date format that is a problem here. The date format should
be what you have set in the dateformat system preference.
I think your problem could be, that you are not providing a borrowernumber. I
found in the past that the import works nicely providing a sequential
borrowernumber for all my entries in the CSV file. Also maybe try to lower case
your header row. It's only a guess as I haven't tested it, but maybe it makes a
difference.

Another idea is that you provide a anonymized sample file of your data, so we
can take a look at the headerrow and 2 or more additional lines to help you
find the problem.

Hope this helps,

Katrin

I changed the date format to -MM-DD
I also added a date to the patron records that didn't have them.
I saved it as an ods file, and then closed it opened it and saved it as csv.
None of these things worked. Same error messages.

Re: [Koha] Problem in importing Patron Records

2012-11-21 Thread Sunil Kumar

Line 2 Critical field "categorycode" missing (borrowernumber: UNDEF;
surname: UNDEF). = same as branchcode error - you have not defined the
catagorycode in the Koha setting.

Thanks and Regards

We have been using Koha for 3-4? years.
Works great.we currently use it in one 4-5 grade building, but plan on
moving our HS and MS to it as well.

Almost no issues.every now and then I have to run a "rebuild" when biblios
get deleted out of the database other than that.it's truly plug it and
forget it (and I could probably CRON that rebuildbut I just never get
around to it).

Feel free to contact me off list if you would like.

Hello!

I am looking for some feedback from users who have Koha and are using it in a
K12 environment. We are evaluating the option to see if it would be suitable
for our environment.

Any feedback at all would be welcome!

Re: [Koha] Problem in importing Patron Records

2012-11-21 Thread Elaine Bradtke
I changed the date format to -MM-DD
I also added a date to the patron records that didn't have them.
I saved it as an ods file, and then closed it opened it and saved it as csv.
None of these things worked. Same error messages.
