Hi Sandra

What version of Koha are you running? What specs is the server that is
serving Koha, what is the network like between your circulation
computers and the Koha server. What specs are the circulation machines
and what browser are the using?
15 seconds is an incredibly long time, I don't think it should be 1 or
maybe 2 seconds tops, so something is going really wrong in your setup
somewhere, the trick is finding where.

[Koha] borrowing extremely slow

2013-02-07 Thread Sandra Busutel
We find it is taking around 15 seconds to borrow and item after having
zapped the barcode. This is far too slow when you have 30 children waiting
in line. Can anyone suggest how we can speed this up?

I suspect it's our customization that is the trouble. Fairly minor as they

Don't forget to the remove items from marc bit too, from the INSTALL file

"Koha 3.4.x or later no longer stores items in biblio records.
If you are upgrading from an older version ou will need to do the
following two steps, they can take a long time (several hours) to
complete for large databases

 misc/maintenance/remove_items_from_biblioitems.pl --run
 misc/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -r"

Re: [Koha] New interface for Koha- OPAC

2013-02-07 Thread Martin Renvoize
Elaine,

There are a few small know bugs with the ccsr theme still mostly regarding
the placement of some of the sections available to you in the koha system
preferences.

If you've got a clean install with no modifications to OPACUserCSS,
OPACUserJS.. then you should be fine just changing that one setting.
If you've already got customisations in those two prefs and additions to
OPACNav and other similar prefs.. then you'll probably need to update those
prefs to reflect the changes to id's in the new templates.

[Koha] Inventory Problems Column

2013-02-07 Thread Nicole Engard
Hi all,

I'm wondering what kinds of things might show in the 'Problems' column on
the inventory report? I've only ever seen it say 'None'.

This comes from a comment on one of my tutorial videos:

feel free to reply there or here so everyone can learn the answer.

Once I have an answer I will of course update the manual accordingly.

Under 'Home › Administration › System preferences > OPAC' you'll want to
switch 'prog' to 'ccsr' for the 'opacthemes' system preference.
