Re: [Koha] Open source replacement for 3M self check station

2013-09-30 Thread Magnus Enger
I wonder... Is this discussion mixing up two different things a bit?

For me, "self check" in relation to Koha can mean (at least) two
different things:

1. A self check "station" that runs dedicated software, and that
communicates with Koha via SIP2

2. Some computer running a browser, possible locked down to "kiosk
mode" and possibly with a touch screen, that is set to display the
"self check web interface" of Koha, as described here:
http://manual.koha-community.org/3.12/en/selfcheckout.html

Or is everyone just talking about one of those?

Best regards,

Hi Friends !

Recently I have upgraded Koha version from 3.08.07 to 3.12.04 .It works but
we can't find new catologized records.

We removed old zebra index and tried indexing with ./rebuild_zebra.pl -b

It brings such error and show only 226 records

Salvete!

Thanks to our delicate system of "governance" bad stuff might soon happen
to Library of Congress sites. So, if you're getting loc.gov related errors,
(Such as setting your z39.50 target as LOC) it's not a Koha issue, it's a
freggin U.S. government issue. Patches most welcome.

It looks as if there's a bit of interest in what I'm working on, so I've
uploaded my original post with some screenshots and other goodies to
   http://www.philobiblios.net/koha
I included the xsl templates that I modified, and added a .txt extension
which I hope will make downloading them easier. They're a bit messy.

Yes, the web page looks horrible. Maybe I'll be able to make it look
better someday, or if my project fits in with Koha's general scheme, I can
add it to the Wiki. No time now, though.

That's an awesome start.

Will you be at Kohacon13? Maybe if you are around for the hackfest
portion afterwards we could talk about this, and see if there are some
developments that could make it work even better for you?

[Koha] Branchcode Error

2013-09-30 Thread annaneve
I am hoping someone can help me fix this problem with our system. I am a
volunteer librarian at a small elementary school that switched to Koha about
a year and a half ago. I really have no support and have been trying to fix
this problem for a while but cannot figure it out. Many of the books in our
system come up with this error when they are checked out:
Software error: C4::Calendar->new(branchcode => $branchcode)
at/usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Circulation.pm line 2722

I think that I have isolated it to books that under the item view do not
show a current location. Other books show the current location as the school
name. However, when I go to edit items, it does show the school name there,
so I don't see where I can edit this.

This seems to be about 50% of the books in the library! If there is another
way I can edit item location, please let me know. I am so frustrated trying
to fix this!

Under edit items is exactly where you should be able to correct this.
What version of Koha are you using? Does your version include batch
modification of items? This would be a quick way of updating the
records which lack branch information.

Current location should also be updated whenever an item is returned,
so you would normally be able to update it by checking in items.
