[Koha] Koha Case Sensitive

2013-12-04 Thread Sander898
Hi all,
I'm using Koha 3.12.5 and Zebra.
I have notice that, when I search for the Call number of a item, Koha
doesn't make difference between:

CALLNUMBER1
callnumber1

It seems that it doesn't recognize uppercase and lowercase. Is it possible?
Is it Koha case sensitive? Have I to set up something in the Administration
preferences?

Thanks for your help!
Sander

Re: [Koha] Importing items problem

2013-12-04 Thread Fabio Tiana
Hi Željko,

glad you got it working!

Interestingly it did not work with field 952 only, both 952 and 995 had
to be present in the record.

Yes, that sounds quite odd.

If you just imported the records and links between bibs and auths are
missing (they also aren't native of Koha if I'm right, as you mentioned a
legacy software), well, that is the expected behaviour. You should link
them running link_bibs_with_authorities.pl . For future linking there are a
few options you may want to setup ( see
http://manual.koha-community.org/3.14/en/administration.html#authprefs ).
By the way, run the script on a test environment first; several checks to
your catalog would be needed (or recommended at least) after its execution.

Fabio

[Koha] Failed tests on make test - koha-3.12.07

2013-12-04 Thread Andi Sugandi
Hi Koha experts,

I'm going to upgrade my Koha testing site from 3.12.04 to 3.12.07 on
openSUSE 13.1 computer.

It's in single install, it only happens in koha 3.12.07:

http://paste.opensuse.org/view/raw/11214074 (make test log)

Although the 'make' command goes well:
http://goo.gl/yO9L3v

And the issue does not happen in openSUSE 12.3.

Is it safe to proceed running 'make install'? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

[Koha] How to add additional Z39.50 encodings

2013-12-04 Thread Zac Craven

Hello

In Koha Z39.50 servers administation I have added a new server and can
fetch data from it.

However, it is a Japanese server and the encoding should be EACC. Koha
doesn't offer this encoding. If I use UTF-8 then all the Japanese
characters are returned as garbled text like so:

100$1i$^i$si$Si$-i$Ni$Mi$3(B / | $1i%Ri%ci%/i%^i%si%Si%-(B
$1i%N(B $1i%Mi%3(B. | hyakumanbiki no neko.

I have followed these steps already to set apache/mysql to utf8:
http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Encoding_and_Character_Sets_in_Koha

But I do not see anything in the wiki documentation about adding encodings.

This discussion seems related although there is no conclusion/solution:
http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/fuF7ADPjh9Qi1sG4I7HZ

Can anyone please point in the right direction to add EACC, ISO-2022-jp,
EUC and other encodings?

Thanks,
Zac

It depends -- it might be as simple as changing one template (specifically,
koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/modules/admin/z3950servers.tt) to allow
selecting an encoding that iconv can handle, or it might require
programming.

It would be useful to know specifically which Z39.50 target(s) you're
trying to use, assuming that they are publicly available.

In the short term it's likely safe enough -- you can run Koha with the
QueryParser syspref off to avoid whatever issue is triggering the test
familar.

As far as tracking down the cause of the test failure is concerned, my
initial suspicion is that there may have been a change in one of the Perl

Right -- although the did you mean settings are internally stored in a
system preference, they're not managed via the system preference editor.
Instead, there's a separate page for managing them -- it can be reached
from the Administration home page. Look for Did you mean? in the lower

I'm no expert, but I'll try.

It may mean you did not choose to import them when you ran the web
installer. Is anything present at Administration / Z39.50 Targets? If
so, do any of them have 'Checked' set to 'Yes'?

I forgot to capture the screen shoot of installation process so i can
not remember what options has been selected. May be I forgot to select
the sample_z3950_servers option if that is what you mean, I'll try
to reinstall it now.

Thanks.
