[Koha] original title in OPAC

2014-03-30 Thread Giuseppe Angilella

Hi,

how do I display the title in the original language of a translated item
in the OPAC? This should be contained in the MARC field 765$t (which is
normally hidden).

(A varying form of title, as recorded in 246$a, is shown as Other
title.)

Should 765$t be somehow linked to the subtitle field?

Many thanks.

Giuseppe.

Re: [Koha] Upgrading Koha from 3.06 to 3.14

2014-03-30 Thread Dibyendra Hyoju
Thank Robin and all for your response.

I tried the way Robin suggested and it worked, however I got the
following error while issuing the koha-mysql instancename sqlfile
command:

ERROR 1005 (HY000) at line 2752: Can't create table
'koha_library.letter' (errno: 150)

Also, I couldn't find the saved Koha reports after importing the
earlier Koha database. It is not a big issue as I can manually create
reports from the SQL.But I am wondering, why the saved reports were
not imported even after issuing koha-upgrade-schema command.

Apart from these issue, I found catalogues, holdings info and patron
information imported correctly. I quickly checked the circulation info
and I think it has also been imported.

Dibyendra

It possibly will, though probably not. It will also not really upgrade
koha, as it doesn't cover moving the data.

My suggestion (and I've done this a few times) is to install Koha from
the packages (already done), take a database dump of the old one using
mysqldump, create an instance in the new install (koha-create), and then
load the data into the new instance.

This last part can be done with:

 sudo koha-mysql instancename dumpfile.sql

 Then you can run:

 sudo koha-upgrade-schema instancename

wait a while (if you have a lot of data and history), and you'll have an
 up-to-date installation.

You will have other hidden issues, it will have stopped at the letter

import again fixing whatever you need to get the letter table to be

**note that I just selected 3 records due to we have thousands of
 records.*

Take a look of the data that I edited; as you can see there is no problem
in the 1st record. However on the 2nd and 3rd record there are problems in
callnumbers take a look with the filed of 050$b and 952$o you will see the
 problem.

 Thanks,

 - Jerwyn

  Hi Jerwyn,
The list does not support attachments. Describe the problem verbally or
  provide a click-able link.

Regarding your original problem, using regular expressions to construct
your 952$o is probably the best way to proceed. At least, it is what we
do. The alternative is to import the data and manipulate the other
sub-fields into 952$o afterwards, probably with a small script you would
  develop.

Is there no way we can do it by SQL Command in report writing.

 Hi Manoj,

Maybe what you are try to say, you want to export your generated report
arranged by barcode? Am I right?

In that case you may edit your data through excel.

 *Steps*

 Step 1

Highlight the whole column of the barcode

 Step 2

 click cnrt+H

 Step 3

 Find what = A
Replace with = *note leave it blank

 click Replace All

(so that you can remove the A symbol)

 Step 4

Go to *Data* and sort your column to A - Z

 Step 5

Make a new column beside the barcode column

then type =A(the column with the number 1) then press enter

and then drag the formula to put A back
