[Koha] Koha search error

2014-07-10 Thread Dibyendra Hyoju
Hi all,

Just recently after upgrading the Koha from 3.14 to 3.16 we have been
facing following problem when certain keywords are used during the search
like: account, business, accounting, financial, financial accounting, etc.
Earlier there were no such problems. But when I search other keywords apart
from the mentioned keywords, there are no problems. Has anyone faced this
kind of problem and found a solutions already? Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks.
Software error:

Can't call method as_string on an undefined value at
/usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Koha.pm line 1608.

 Hello,

I am using KOHA 3.10. Everything went right. But last few days, I am facing
a serious problem. While circulation, normally fine is ok if due date is
over. But if a book is renewed after due date, then fine is not generated
 after check in.

Any kind of help is highly appreciable.

 Hallo all,

I have downloaded a fast framework guided by Nicole Engard it look good
except that all the field and the sub-fields that I added are not working
which means I can?t add any text to it. Please advise as the default
framework does not have the fields that we mostly use.

 Any help will be appreciated.

Please do NOT respond to Digest -- it was pure luck that I saw your post.

The default framework does include 880 $2-9,a-z as ALTERNATE GRAPHIC
REPRESENTATION -- see http://www.loc.gov/marc/holdings/hd880.html -- so
you can create (para 4.1 of the manual) your own new framework derived from
default.

What fields do you mostly use? The default framework is pretty complete,
but we might be able to help you to add something more esoteric.

I've gotten a few. This came up in April as well; see:

Upshot, unfortunately, is that there is probably not much we can do about it.

It's definitely a thing that happens. All they need to do is subscribe
an address to the list, and have a bot reply to everything.

Short of screening every single email address (which wouldn't be
impossible, but a bit of work*), we can't tell what the subscribed

You are better to use koha-mail-disable for this, assuming this was a
package installation. It automatically cleans the mail queue every day.
If you simply turn off the sending, your queue will slowly grow, and
then if you turn on the sending again for some reason (even by
accident), all those out of date emails will get sent to people.

That's probably something you don't want.

If it's not a package installation, you probably want to ensure you're
regularly cleaning out the mail queue.

[Koha] Modifications log and privacy

2014-07-10 Thread Jerry Carbone
We are a 6 member consortium running Koha 3.14.5. In the State of Vermont we
have a robust library record protection statute and all libraries have
policies regarding retention of personally identifiable information.

Do other libraries have concerns regarding the modification log that keeps
links to item that patrons have checked out? The anonymizer cron job is
running and links to the item record and patron are broken.

Welcome any and all replies, especially from libraries that may have
work-arounds to this situation in protecting patron reader privacy.
