Re: [Koha] Report help

2014-10-15 Thread Steven Nickerson
Hi Kerrie,
I think adding AND s.branch =Branch|branches will do what you're
looking for. So the whole SQL statement would be:
SELECT concat(b.surname,', ',b.firstname) AS name, count(s.borrowernumber)
AS checkouts FROM statistics s LEFT JOIN borrowers b USING (borrowernumber)
WHERE s.datetime BETWEEN Top checkouts BETWEEN (-mm-dd)|date AND
and (-mm-dd)|date AND s.branch =Branch|branches GROUP BY
s.borrowernumber ORDER BY count(s.borrowernumber) DESC LIMIT 20

That is, assuming each campus library is defined as a separate branch in
Koha, of course. Hope this helps!

Subject: [Koha] Report help

Hi Everyone,
I've been using the report 'Patrons with most checkouts in date range' with
success, but when I try to modify it to allow me to select which campus
library the patrons are from so I can get a top 20 list for any of our
campus libraries, I can't get it to work - can anyone help me with this?
SELECT concat(b.surname,', ',b.firstname) AS name, count(s.borrowernumber)
AS checkouts FROM statistics s LEFT JOIN borrowers b USING (borrowernumber)
WHERE s.datetime BETWEEN Top checkouts BETWEEN (-mm-dd)|date AND
and (-mm-dd)|date GROUP BY s.borrowernumber ORDER BY
count(s.borrowernumber) DESC LIMIT 20 Thank you!

Re: [Koha] Enable PHP in OpacMainUserBlock

2014-10-15 Thread Owen Leonard
 We've done this by having a script generate HTML for the covers each
 night and using javascript to include it on the page.

You can also use an iframe to pull in content from a different page.
This is useful if you don't have access to PHP on the server on which
Koha is installed.

Re: [Koha] A Road Map for Koha

2014-10-15 Thread Viktor.Sarge

 1. To maintain a road map for Koha - that is not time based.
 2. The road map is to address both features and architecture.
 3. The monthly general meeting following each major release will consider
 updates to the road map.
 4. However maintenance of the road map can be a continuous process.

If I don’t make it to the IRC meeting here are my thoughts: A roadmap sounds
like something that could spark useful discussion on where we want to go. I
have no problem with the current way of doing things, but I do occasionally get
the feeling that I don’t see the big picture of what’s planned and down what
path that development is taking Koha. Sometimes decisions get taken just by
small stuff like adding a nifty little feature that makes our users expect even
more features in the that area. I do see scenarios where a roadmap/central
planning of development could become a problem, but from the description it
sounds like a good idea.

 Therefore we propose two new roles in the community release team. These are
 roles that could be effectively filled by librarians (one for each role, or a
 team), allowing developers to keep developing.

 _Wiki Curator_
 - a lot of work needs to be done to clean up the wiki;
 - could also participate (with some developers) in updating the wiki
 technology;
 - the role is not seen as a controller of wiki content or as being required
 to approve content, rather it is a curation task: moving stuff around,
 keeping it tidy, collaborating with the wiki contributors (So, looking at
 stuff and asking: Is this correct? Does it need to be updated? Should it be
 moved?  Renamed? etc)

 _Communication Manager_
 - promote the project and its achievements;
 - gather press releases and stories;
 - liaise closely with the newsletter editors (Chad and JD);
 - update the koha-community.org website;
 - send items to Marshall Breeding or other distribution sites;
 - write articles or twist the arms of others who might write articles.

Both these two areas could use a boost so I approve.

Here a more long advice in italian

Hackmeeting Koha 13 e 14 Novembre 2014

vedersi, parlarsi, scambiarsi idee e lavorare insieme. E' quindi

 CHI PUO' PRENDERVI PARTE?

partecipare.

Quando: giovedì 13 e venerdì 14 novembre. Inizieremo sempre la mattina
alle 9:30. Le attività si concluderanno al pomeriggio, indicativamente
entro le 17:30.

ARGOMENTI?
Decidiamoli insieme! L'obiettivo è migliorare insieme Koha perché sia
sempre più adatto all'Italia.

 -- Suggeriamo a tutti di portare il proprio pc portatile con già sopra
un'installazione Koha funzionante;

 -- Tutte le iniziative saranno principalmente in lingua italiana con
eventuale uso dell'inglese in caso di presenza di ospiti stranieri;

 -- La sede di Cineca di Segrate (MI) sita in via R. Sanzio 4. è a

http://www.hpc.cineca.it/content/how-reach-cineca-milan

Tajoli (z.taj...@cineca.it). In caso di sovrannumero, potrebbero non
essere accettate tutte le richieste.

-- All'atto della registrazione vi possiamo dare consigli sugli hotel
dove soggiornare.

Bye all

 I believe what you need to do is to get the MARC records staged for
 import but not actually complete the import. Then when you make a search in
 the cataloging module, you should get a hit from the reservoir which would
 have the records you staged for import.

 Go to Tools Stage MARC records for import then import the file,
 don't follow through with the last step of importing into the catalog.

 Once done with the cataloging, go to Tools Staged MARC management
 and you should be able to clean the records from the reservoir.

 Hope this helps.

Tools - Batch item deletion will accept a file of itemnumbers. You can
use a report to help get the list of itemnumbers.

The tool also allows you to delete empty records when deleting those items.

You can also delete them manually from the edit items page if you don't
have a lot.
