Re: [Koha] The University of hte South Pacific Library - seeking information on koha

2017-09-19 Thread King, Fred
A few comments on Zeno's comments:

> >2. Can Koha be installed in a Windows environment?
> No. You need to use Linux
The system itself needs to be installed on a Linux server, but the catalog and
staff interfaces are browser-based, so you can use Windows or any other OS.
Unlike the system we migrated from, there isn't separate staff software that
has to be installed on staff computers.

>6. Does Koha have Predictive text searching?
>7. Does Koha include an eRM module?
>8. Does Koha have a Mobile Interface and Circulation for Android or iOS
>or HTML5 Browsers)
>9. Does Koha have a Digital Asset Management System?
...and a few other questions.
As someone (sorry--I can't remember who) said, anything is possible in Koha if
you're willing to pay for it. Koha is user-driven, and anything contributed
becomes part of the general release. If you want a feature, you can build it or
hire someone to build it. All right, probably not ANYTHING, but pretty close.

Re: [Koha] Hide MARC View separator

2017-09-19 Thread | dalmeida |
Thank you, Mark Alexander and Owen Leonard! It worked thanks to your help!

But this code didn't work for my Koha version:

$(document).ready(function(){
$("#MARCview").parent().hide();
});

This one did:

$(".view a:contains('MARC view')").hide();

Thank you!

Re: [Koha] Software error: Koha Web Installer-MARC21

2017-09-19 Thread Chris Cormack
The main thing to do is use mariadb not mysql.
The error reported earlier in this thread is due to using mysql.

There are still some issues with Koha and latest mysql. But it's fine with
mariadb

Re: [Koha] Software error: Koha Web Installer-MARC21

2017-09-19 Thread Michael Kuhn

Hi Dimitris

According to https://koha-community.org/download-koha/ Debian GNU/Linux
9 (Stretch) is not supported.

Koha has its own problems with Ubuntu 16.04 (see the link given by Zeno:
https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_ubuntu_-_packages ).
However it is said that "16.04 LTS is based on Debian stretch/SID". As
someone said, in fact Ubuntu doesn't follow the official Debian
releases. They just take whatever they need from the full archive.

[Koha] Koha Facebook Groups

2017-09-19 Thread George

Hello everyone,

At the last IRC meeting someone asked about Koha Facebook groups.  These
are the two that I know of:

Koha Users: https://www.facebook.com/groups/475420505905835

Koha Library System Project: https://www.facebook.com/groups/6381238597

Each group has about 3,000 members and there does seem to be a lot of
overlap in membership.

See you all later,

Re: [Koha] Check-out Counts difference

2017-09-19 Thread SATISH
I mean to say..in the check out page... The count is different and the
checkout history page of a patron shows active checkouts is different...
Numbers.
Example, in checkout it is 3
But when I went to check out history the number active titles which are
checked out is 9 titles.

2017-09-19 Thread Jonathan Druart
Hello,

I am not sure to understand, do you have a screenshot?
One screen displays the current checkouts and the other screen (history)
displays all current and previous checkouts.

Jonathan

2017-09-19 Thread SATISH
Hi Jonathan,
Thank you for the reply.
I did update from 16.11.09 to 16.11.11 today, re-indexed and cleared the
cache, no fix for the problems defined previously.
Still the difference between Check-out counts on patron's page and Checkout
history is not similar.
Since, it is critical, can I proceed further to update from 16.11.11 to
17.05 on Ubuntu 14.04 ??
any other solutions for this problem ? and how others are working on
similar issues??

looking forward for the help.
