[Koha] Presentation

2019-06-13 Thread Daniele Piccoli
Hi everyone, my name is Daniele and I'm new here.

I'm a sysadmin and I work in a school in Italy.

I've joined this list today because I've used Koha for a while and I
think it's a really good software.

In our school we've been starting to using Koha, only in test
environment for the moment and so I've some questions for you...

...but I'll make new posts during the next days.

Bye

I've already installed 2 servers with koha up and running; everything
works well, both OPAC and Staff interface.

So, in one installation I'd import the data from excel file that we've
already filled and there are no problems to do this, I did a conversion
last month and then I imported the data into koha without any particular
problems.

On the other hand, in the second installation we have to import the data
from the CDS-ISIS archive (produced by WinIride, an old died software)
and here I have some trouble with the conversiont, but I'm trying with
some tools and if necessary I'll open a new thread.

After that, we want publish the OPACs on the Internet and let only the
staff personnel to manage the catalogue through the staff interface.

[Koha] Koha Ldap Auth

2019-06-24 Thread Daniele Piccoli
Hi guys,

I've an instance of Koha in lab test and I'm trying to enable ldap auth
towards our active directory server (samba4 instance), but I'm
experiencing some issues.

Koha is correctly installed on an Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS, fully updated.

I read and followed this page [0], step by step, without any problems.

Now, I've followed this step:

1. Open /etc/koha/sites/*biblioname*/koha-conf.xml
2. Enable LDAP: 1
3. Insert settings as follow:

 ldaps://*IP-OF-DC*
 ou=Users,dc=*sub*,dc=*domain*,dc=*tld*
 cn=*user*,dc=*sub*,dc=*domain*,dc=*tld*
 *password*
 1
 1
 1
uid=%s,ou=*User*,dc=*sub*,dc=*domain*,dc=*tld*
  record field names -->

4. Reload apache service

After that, when I try to open the OPAC interface as well as staff
interface, the follow errors appears:

OPAC URL:

Mapping tags were closed, like these:

By the way, I've just tried to remove them, but the result is the same.

The file is readable by Koha and in fact it has the correct permission

I missed an end tag in a comment before, and so it gave me the error
about reading

Now, the error disappeared

I've been trying to adapt the configuration in according to my DC server
but, for the moment, ldap auth doesn't work.

I'm monitoring the traffic on 389 port on DC and no traffic come from
the Koha server...that's quite strange.

[Koha] Customize OPAC search results

2023-03-28 Thread Daniele Piccoli

Hi all, my first message here.

We have been starting tu use Koha in our school for organize our books,
it works very well.

I'd like to know if it is possible to customize the search results and
put a circle with a color side to each book, based on class that it
suited for

For instance, first class --> BLU, second class --> RED, and so on

Do you have any hint?

Thanks

Welcome to Koha, Daniele!

Thanks so much :)

You may have/want to add the 521 tag to the index, too. If you're using
Elasticsearch, it's fairly easy.

I recently redesigned our MedStar Authors catalog, part of which included
modifying the xsl templates. You can see and download my files at
medstarauthors.org/cgi-bin/koha/opac-page.pl?page_id=9.

I've just added the 521$a tag to one record, and it shows up regularly
in the OPAC Resuls (I've added custom XSLT like explained here:
https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/XSLT_Library)

Now I'd like to show a different images based of content of this field.
I've already generated the images and copied them on the server.

I need to select the content of subfield and then configure which images
show based on the match

For instance,

 - if subfiled contain "text1" --> show image1.png
 - if subfiled contain "text2" --> show image2.png

I was thinking something like:

class="label"/>

Thanks for your advices
