Sorry I'm no expert either but did you check if there are any suspicious slow queries? https://www.a2hosting.com/kb/developer-corner/mysql/enabling-the-slow-query-log-in-mysql By setting the time to a very low number you get almost tracing... but then again you could probably use a better way to track all queries. We are running Koha 19.11 on Debian 9.11 (stretch). This supports 5 Koha instances for some of the volunteer-run libraries in Sheffield. It has been stable and working fine for many months. Currently we have a serious problem with one of these instances. Any attempt to check out a book hangs (never completes) and we see /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/circ/circulation.pl consuming most of the CPU cycles (stuck in a loop perhaps?). On one occasion I noticed it was renew.pl consuming all the CPU. I have tried disabling plack for this instance, and have rebuilt the zebra index, but the problem persists. There is nothing obvious reported in the log files, though I may not be looking in the right places. I cannot see any obvious problems with the configuration, though again I might be looking at the wrong things. The other 4 instances are working OK. *Any advice on how to debug or fix this would be greatly appreciated.* Does anyone know how to turn on tracing of MySQL transactions? I was wondering if looking at the activity at the database end might help. Hello, As your ressources are small I'd suggest to get something cheaper. I'm using a vps located in germany: contabo.de There you get a lot more for the same money. Re: [Koha] Installation from Source Code
It is quite possible but a lot of work... I think it would be easier to carry the server to an internet access install and setup everything then bring it back to where it is supposed to run. because else the sourcecode is only the first bit. You are needing all the dependencies like SQL, PHP, etc. In addition to that you need all development packages if you are building from source. So if it must be without internet I would setup a similar ubuntu with internet access and install koha on it carefully noting everything that has been installed and then download all those packages manually transfer them to the server and install them there. - but still it is rather unlikely that you will manage to install the server without internet in case of problems (especially since this seems to be your first koha install). Another variant would be to create a virtual machine on a computer with internet. Setup everything on the virtual machine and then transfer the virtual machine to the target. hope that helps. Re: [Koha] German community library project needs help
Hey there, I'm in Germany (Stuttgart) I recently migrated our schools library to koha. I think the biggest problem why koha might not be what you are lookin for is that it is relatively hard (in not librarian speak) to add entries. So while it is easy when familiar with Library systems it is rather hard to figure out what to put where, when you just want to add four books, the drilling machine and the badminton set. Other than that the basic setup is easy. Just follow the instructions ;) installing ubuntu linux on a machine: (german) https://www.heise.de/download/blog/Ubuntu-fuer-Einsteiger-Download-und-Installation-3641146?hg=2=1=false or rent a VirtualServer with linux e.g. at contabo.
