Hi all, I don't know who manages this so I'm sorry to email everyone, but the manual on Jenkins is a big screwy. http://jenkins.koha-community.org/ The 3.18 branch is missing and the master branch fails all the time but it generates the HTML and PDFs a-ok and shows no errors when I validate in Oxygen. Re: [Koha] Serial Subscription Help
What about creating a custom frequency, is there any way to do it in there without having to make edits to the predicted dates? Nicole On Thu, Mar 19, 2015 at 10:25 AM, Gaetan Boisson gaetan.bois...@biblibre.com wrote: Hi Nicole, the pattern you describe is between two times a month and once every two weeks actually. It's not the same thing since we don't have exactly four weeks per month. Looking at the link you gave and a calendar (for 2015), it seems this publication is issued once every other tuesday. (It looks like it is first and third tuesdays of every month like Julian said.) But then, you can have 3 tuesdays in one month, which is what's happening for march 2015. Issue 7 should be on the 31st of March if we were truly publishing one issue once every two weeks. I'd say the serial is published every other tuesday but twice a month no matter what. In this case you'll have to manage it as an irregularity : the publication skips one week if there are 3 tuesdays in one month, and this is too complicated to be supported by the serials module by itself. What i would do is set up this serial with a once every two weeks frequency, and the 7th of January as the first issue publication date. It would look alright until issue 7, which would be planned for the 31st of March, and the next issue being 2 weeks after it would be scheduled for the 14th of April and everything onwards would be screwed. I would save the subscription this way, after receiving number 6, Koha would generate number 7, for the 31st of March. Before receiving it (i think you could do it when receiving it too), i'd edit this serial, and change the publication date to the 7th of April (which is my guess at how this publication works). This way, the next issues generated will be based on this date, and the subscription will be back on track. You'll have to do this everytime you have 3 tuesdays in the same month. The rest of the model looks fine to me, and the numbers should increment and roll properly. For example, there are many people using Koha in a non-commercial library, and so wouldn't be allowed to use it. I know, that sounds a bit silly, but that's literally what the (poor excuse for a) license says. Additionally, it'd be nice that if we had icons, they allowed derivative works to be made, so we can modify them to suit more, change colours to fit a theme, etc. The absolute ideal would be CC-BY-SA, as that's a very close analogue with the GPL, but most CC licenses would work provided it doesn't include Non-Commercial or No-Derivatives. -- Robin Sheat Catalyst IT Ltd. ✆ +64 4 803 2204 GPG: 5FA7 4B49 1E4D CAA4 4C38 8505 77F5 B724 F871 3BDF ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha

[Koha] Report help
Hi all, I'm looking for a report to give the average age of the collection in a few item types. [Koha] Koha 3.18 Manual Feedback
Hello all, I have finally finished the 3.18 manual and am looking for feedback. http://manual.koha-community.org/3.18/en/ It took me a lot longer than normal due to life issues, so I'd love to hear from you all if you think something is missing or not documented right. When I say finished I mean that I think I have all the new features documented - I will keep updating it as I get feedback. I will branch this manual soon and start on the 3.20 manual. The info you need regarding size is right here: http://manual.koha-community.org/3.16/en/catalogtools.html#uploadlocalimages in short there is no size restriction applied. Arslan, I agree the wiki is lacking in instructions, right now I don't have time to update that. So what I'd say is you can help by sending me text documents with edits to areas of the manual or if someone who has used docbook and the manual git repo could give you instructions on that that would help me. [Koha] Question about how Notices work in 3.16
Hi all, I got a good question about notices in 3.16 that I don't know the answer to. As always the answer will go in the manual once I have it :) In the Overdue notice/status triggers tool, if we just put a check mark in just the Email column, will an overdue notice be printed for people with out email? If we put a check in both the Email and Print columns, does Koha send the patron both an email and a printed notice? I think there is a bug right now where the print isn't generated at all - but I'd like the theoretical answer so that we have it documented when the bug is fixed :) Nicole ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha

[Koha] Looking for more Serials Documentation help
Hello all, With the new serials module in Koha 3.14 we have a lot of questions coming in and my documentation is not thorough enough because I admit I haven't had time to really dig deep in to it. I'm wondering if I could enlist some of you to submit patches to the manual for this section and/or send me documentation in other formats that you'd like me to include in the manual. The big issues are: * The lack of the 'rollover' is very confusing to people - rollover made sense and people have been using it for ages so now the 'inner counter' is causing all kinds of questions and while I know how to fill it in to make things work (sometimes) I don't really understand it either. * This email I got: My staff reports, and I confirmed sitting next to them, going through the steps, that the manual for the serials module is not as helpful as hoped for. In particular, it would be very helpful to have several step by step examples on how to setup a serial (a couple or three, with different publishing patterns) that could be applied to our subscriptions. For example, the manual has a section for setting up new numbering patterns, but the screen shots are blank. A concrete example with explanations on every field to fill out -- say for a pattern that is year/volume/issue would go a very long way and should address most questions. Of course, we were and are further confused by the fact that data we enter and save in the patterns isn't actually saved, but that seems to be a broader problem affecting us right now and not specific to the serials module. * The fact that you can't edit the manual history unless you have the 'manual history' box checked when creating the subscription - when before we could edit it at any time also confusing. So, if you understand and/or use the current serials module in 3.14 or 3.16 I'd love to hear from you with edits to the manual to help Koha users around the world. The sections are: http://manual.koha-community.org/3.14/en/serials.html and http://manual.koha-community.org/3.14/en/sampleserialsapp.html Thanks in advance, Nicole ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha

[Koha] Permission to delete cover image?
Is there any one permission that controls who can delete a cover image? If you have permission to upload them you can delete them? or is there no permission on there at all and can everyone delete covers? Just checking for documentation purposes. Re: [Koha] Report Help - With Rollup
Okay - now here's the new issue - the grand total does not show: SELECT IFNULL(a.lib,'*GRAND TOTAL*') as Location, thingy.circs AS Circulations FROM (select i.location as loction, count(s.datetime) as circs from statistics s left join items i using (itemnumber) left join borrowers p using (borrowernumber) where s.type in ('issue','renew') and p.categorycode != 'LIBRARYUSE' and s.branch=Check out/renewal branch|branches and s.datetime between Checked out or renewed between (-mm-dd)|date and and (-mm-dd)|date group by i.location with rollup ) AS thingy LEFT JOIN authorised_values a on thingy.loction=a.authorised_value where a.category='LOC' On Tue, Mar 25, 2014 at 4:16 PM, Nick Clemens n...@quecheelibrary.org wrote: Ah, I see now, not a bug, I thought the duplicate authorised_values weren't showing up, they were just filing odd because I was using test values and not sorting. The system doesn't throw an error, and I can't see that value in the listing, but it is then 'Adult Fiction' is duplicated in my report Is the issue clear?
