[Koha] Error 500 search not working
Dear Friends, Koha version 21.05.5. Xubuntu 20.04 LTS I got the following error when searching for the barcode in Advanced search. The same problem when searching barcoded in the search bar. An error has occurred! It is the statutory apex body of public libraries in the state. KSLC is the successor of ‘Kerala Grandhasala Sanghom’ formed by the amalgamation of libraries which were functioning in the erstwhile Travancore, Cochin and Malabar regions in Kerala. KSLC is constituted through a democratic process giving representation to all public libraries in the state and functions as the core of the cultural life of Kerala. The total number of libraries affiliated to the KSLC so far is around 7500. Now, the KSLC is embarking on a programme of computerizing the affiliated public libraries. An expert committee was constituted by KSLC for this purpose. This automation programme is planned to be rolled out in two phases. In the first phase the Koha Open Source Software will be customized in Malayalam and deployed in selected affiliated libraries on the basis of e-readiness. In the second phase there will be a statewide rollout, covering all the affiliated libraries. The vendor for software customization, implementation and training was selected though a two-part national bid process. M/s. Dear Friends, We are using Koha 3.14.7. How can we restrict patrons permanently? Tow restriction options are Gone no address and Lost card. These two options have their own purposes. Dear Friends, I exported marc from one Koha 3.10 system and imported in a newly installed Koha 3.12 machine. Some books status says that its still on loan. No transactions made in new Koha. I think checked out status in old Koha available with marc record. How can I remove that status in bulk mode? Dear Friends, Developers / Linux techies view point manual installation is easy and convenient. In the case of a library professional, they have no Linux experience. They need to familiar with Linux desktop. Live DVD can provide familiarization. It give more confidence in them. Later they can learn ABCD's of Linux and Koha maintenance. Small libraries can run Koha with the help of Koha Live DVD. When collection grows more, they can opt manual installation. Libraries with big collection can go for servers and manual installation. Dear Lars, I appreciate your efforts to promote Koha in Denmark. Now Koha 3.12 version Live DVD is in progress. Please listen about are login settings with this Live DVD, I have done post installation steps of Koha (e.g. sample news etc.) I have not created Library Branch. In my experience most of the librarians like to assign their own code for library branch. So, after installation of Live DVD, librarian has to login using master login details and need to create a normal user and assign super librarian privileges for daily login. I assigned master user name is koha_library, password is koha123. And all details including passwords mentioned in Readme file, which put in desktop. This arrangement is friendly for newbies? Dear Mark and other friends, My problem with fine calculation is as follows: default fine calculation time is 1 AM. Fine calculation does not work in the case of Koha installed on pc not working for 24x7 hours. Libraries having Koha service available between 9AM to 5 PM cant count fine. Reason is that cronjob work only on 1 PM. Installation from tarball cronjob entries can be loaded in crontab -e with timings. # FINES 510 * * * $KOHA_CRON_PATH/fines.pl Users can easily change the default time (1pm) to other convenient time (e.g. 9 AM) for fine calculation. My doubt is that how can I change the default time of fine calculation to another convenient timing? I would like to change time 1 PM to 10 AM. I installed Koha from Ubuntu packages. Dear Friends, I am trying to build a Koha Live cd/dvd on Ubuntu 12.04. But the process is not completed yet. I tried Remastersys with Ubuntu 12.04 and found that it does not work. Now I am trying to work with UCK to build a live CD. I am ready to join the Koha team as Live CD/DVD release manager. Before that I have to find an ideal Ubuntu customization tool to build Koha Live DVD. My plan is that build a ready to use Koha Live CD. Dear Friends, Live CD/DVDs are essential part of any Free software project. We can find that Live CD/DVDs are available in many popular Free software projects like Dspace and Eprints. Live CD/DVDs are easy to try and install for non techies. Manual installation of Koha is difficult process for most of library professionals. In the present situation, Koha project has not released official Live CD/DVD. It is high time to think about the development of an official live cd/dvd from Koha team. In my experience, popularity of Koha increased in India after the availability of live cd/dvd. Organising Koha workshops are now easy with Koha Live cd/dvd. Installation of Koha by participants in workshops ate good part of the time. Now participants can try Koha at home or workplace after the workshop without much effort. I had created a live cd and dvd based on Ubuntu 10.04 with the help of Remastersys. https://sourceforge.net/projects/kohalivecd-lite https://sourceforge.net/projects/kohalivedvd/ But I could not develop a live cd based on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS due to its incompatibility with Remastersys. Lot of other live cd/dvds are available and useful for community; library professsionals, LIS teachers, students and research scholars. I request Koha community and developers should think about the release of official Koha Live CD/DVD. Then only we can achieve uniformity in Koha Live CD/DVD development and release. Dear Friends, Many libraries with small collection run on Koha Live CDs. Small libraries (in terms of collection, manpower and money) cant afford online hosting and servers for production purpose. They made use Koha Live CD for the installation on their ordinary PC. I agree that Koha Live CD is not suitable for libraries with big collection and lot of transactions. I know many college libraries in Kerala with above 5 records successfully running on Koha Live CD. I think they will move to a server when collection become big. [Koha] Incremental fine system in Koha
Dear Friends, In our library, move to Koha from SOUL ILS is in progress. Library staff alone are doing the migration process. We have no technical support from outside. We successfully transfered bibliographical details and patron details to Koha. One problem is with incremental fine system. Our fine system is that, first ten days .50 paise per day. [Koha] How to joint marc sub fields?
Dear Friends, We are trying to migrate data from SOUL to Koha. We exported data from SOUL as CCF and then converted to MARC 21. We are in final stage of marc conversion. One problem faced in this stage is copy a particular sub field data to another different marc field. How to joint or copy call number in 082$a to 952 ? Call number in 952$o is essential to display in OPAC. We are using MARCEdit for conversion and editing MARC. Please help us to solve this thing. [Koha] Suspension in Days is confusing
.Dear Friends, I have confusion regarding Suspension in Days option in Administration Circulation and Fine Rules. I understood that, patron membership will suspend (Freeze) after specific days.
