Greetings, Each time I try to build the index it abruptly ends, I don't know why or what is causing it to end abruptly. In the past, I encountered similar bizarre stops when there was a memory shortage. How much memory (RAM) does your machine have? I personally would aim for 2GB at least, 4GB if you are running a desktop (graphical) version of Ubuntu. Does it have swap space? $ free -m This command will give you an idea of the megabytes of RAM you have free. If you notice it is particularly low (100MB or less), try to stop the apache server, reindex, and the restart the apache server: $ sudo service apache2 stop ... $ sudo service apache2 start If this succeeds, then you do have a memory issue, and you need to get more, add/increase swap space, or find out what you don't need running and stop that. Hi Guys, I ran */usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -v -r -a -b -x* but to no avail. I was using no_zebra before I updated koha. I don't know if that is causing the problem with the searches. Additionally, at a documentation centre (which was yesterday), I updated koha from version 3.02.x to 3.10.x. Everything worked fine (including searches) after following all installation instructions. I had executed no_zebra on their server and I got the same searching problem that we are facing. After I experience at the search issue at the documentation centre after running no_zebra I ran */usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -r * but it still showed no items. Based on the above mentioned, can you help me to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Sheldon, I was using no_zebra before I updated koha. I don't know if that is causing the problem with the searches. NoZebra is deprecated, and if you still have it turned on, that could cause problems. If you go into the Local use tab on the system preferences page, change NoZebra to OFF, and see how that goes. Hi All, I updated from koha 3.02.x to koha 3.10.x. The update was successful however, the systems is showing no items next to the records. Moreover, I try running */migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -r* but it keep timing out. Staff members are unable to check books in and out of the library. Alas we are doing it manually in the interim. Can someone please help me to resolve the issue. Did you make sure you followed all the instructions, including running the remove items from marc script. Check the upgrade instructions in the INSTALL file. I followed all the instructions. misc/maintenance/remove_items_from_biblioitems.pl --run ..This command ran successfully misc/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -r ..I was unable to run this command, each time I ran it, putty times out because of inactivity. Hi Sheldon Try running with -x and -v. Putty timing out sounds weird, but then it's been about 10 years since I've used windows so I have no idea what putty does anymore. Nothing should be *broken* as a result of that command line, but the commands do different things. Without -r, you are not rebuilding your indexes, and without -x you are not using XML. Putty timing out is probably a result of Putty not working well if you have even the slightest problem with your internet connection (for example, if you're using wireless in a building with metal or concrete walls). I would suggest running the rebuild in screen or tmux, or even just daemonizing it with so that the rebuild isn't killed when you lose the connection.
