Re: [Koha] koha help needed and i want to add my self in koha mailing list
Hi Asif. I am confused by your request. As you have posted to the General Koha Mailing list, you can post your questions to this list. As with any of the Koha Community communication methods (such as the mailing lists, Facebook, and IRC), and similar to many other free and open source software communities, it does not mean that someone will necessarily reply with an answer. This may be because many Koha Community members are busy in their normal job or life, or may not know the answer - many/most in the community are likely volunteering to do so in their own time (or for some, in the time provided for community support - which is really appreciated!). I think many in the community understand the frustration when new to Koha or the library world. Especially those self-supported and using Koha without a support partner. Koha can be complex, and figuring out how to implement and use Koha for your library needs can be challenging! In getting answers to questions, some useful information to include: - If it is about installation or upgrades: version information and how you installed are useful - Other questions: . What Koha version you are using (for example: Koha 23.05.04) . What you are trying to do . Why you are trying to do it - sometimes there maybe other ways to achieve what you what to do . Re: [Koha] Koha Help
Hello Bassil, it may be a problem of the database. Do you perform a new installation? If yes you can try to delete the database and make a new one, then redo the installation of Koha via the Web Interface, and install all the samples (framework, patron, etc...). Re: [Koha] Koha Help
Hello Sander, Well thanks a lot for your reply. You are right, I guess it is a database issue. In fact I got the Koha 3.8 version from this link: http://download.koha-community.org/koha-3.08.10.tar.gz. Someone helped me installing it. Can you please just explain to me how can I delete the database and make a new one and use the Web Interface to redo the installation and from where I can install all the samples? Thanks again. To elaborate, it is being suggested that you drop your Koha database and reinstall it because a missing default framework indicates some kind of problem with the original installation process. It is most definitely not a problem with 3.10.x that will be fixed by downgrading to 3.8.x. If you have just started using Koha and it is safe to start your database over from scratch it might be a good idea. Another option is to import the default framework manually, but if something went wrong with your installation there might be other problems with your database which haven't surfaced. -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha
