Re: [Koha] Pacific Northwest (North America) Regional meeting
So just for the record, this is being proposed as KUDOS 2012, correct? Greg Greg Lawson Rolling Hills Consolidated Library 1912 N. Belt Highway St. Joseph, MO 64506 - Hearing no other bids for hosting, I'm willing to pull together a meeting here in Portland. Here's a Doodle poll with possible dates that fit my schedule. Note that Doodle will not let me choose whole days for the Schedule Event function, so I chose the start day time for the poll. http://www.doodle.com/s4gw83sdgaz27cdt This event will be open to anyone who wants to visit Portland. I figure Thursday Friday for unconference then Saturday for touring. I can arrange the Columbia River Gorge, or Washington/Oregon beaches. Or, we could arrange a Willamette Valley vineyard tour. If there is enough help to organize, we can turn the meeting into Kudos 2012. I wasn't really thinking that big. Lenora From: G. Re: [Koha] Pacific Northwest (North America) Regional meeting
There is no KUDOS 2012 conference being planned. I am guessing no one has a problem if you want to call this KUDOS 2012. The only think you need to take into consideration if you do this is that KUDOS does not yet have 501c3 status. This means that KUDOS itself cannot handle money. However, when we did KUDOS2011, we ran the conference using donations from sponsors. All you need is an institution that will volunteer to handle taking donations and paying for any expenses. David Schuster can jump in about the status of KUDOS as a non-profit org. On Fri, Apr 20, 2012 at 11:17 AM, G. Re: [Koha] Pacific Northwest (North America) Regional meeting
OK, great, thanks for the info. I'll pretend that Lenora's conference offer is a valid proxy for KUDOS 2012, and ask the director to send a couple of us. Lenora: Don't know how to ask this diplomatically, but have you considered a suggested donation for snacks/amenities or incidentals? I personally think that would be fair.
