Re: [Koha] Problem circulation records
My installation of Koha does not allow me to delete item records in use. I've got smart barcodes still on the sheets that I've got checked out to ONSHEET and I get an error message when I try to delete them. Betsy, Which version of Koha are you using? Liz Rea NEKLS On Apr 1, 2011, at 2:27 PM, Kelly, Betsy wrote: Why does Koha allow one to delete an item record that is in use!? Re: [Koha] Problem circulation records
Whoa, that's a pretty big bug and I don't see anything like it in bugzilla. Since you know more about it would you mind filing one for that at bugs.koha-community.org? So don't reverse an imported batch of records using the batch import tool if there's any chance some of the items from that imported file could be checked out. Re: [Koha] Problem circulation records
I just tested this in (something very close to) current master. The issue you describe here is no longer an issue in koha. Which version are you running? One caveat to that statement, as bug 3597 states, it still doesn't check for transit or waiting status for reserves. This screencap confirms that on issue items are not deleted, but that waiting and transit status items are deleted: http://screencast.com/t/Lh5vwCxetec I've updated the original bug to reflect this discovery. Thanks for bringing it up so that we could double check it! We used it for deleting our Interlibrary Loan temp records. You should use Edit Items on the same function and then delete from the table that appears. It checks for Checked out status. -Original Message- From: koha-boun...@lists.katipo.co.nz [mailto:koha-boun...@lists.katipo.co.nz] On Behalf Of Owen Leonard Sent: Friday, April 01, 2011 3:57 PM To: Kelly, Betsy Cc: koha@lists.katipo.co.nz Subject: Re: [Koha] Problem circulation records Why does Koha allow one to delete an item record that is in use!? It doesn't. You can't delete an item which is checked out if you try to do it from the Koha interface. Koha will warn you that the item is checked out. However, it's always possible someone could do deletions directly in the database. -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha No virus found in this incoming message.
