It's a more extensible/flexible system and we could easily modify bulkmarcimport.pl to allow the use of modification templates. I know it means tossing this existing work, but I'd say it's usually better to have less code than more code. I think bug 8015 is a great basis for this, but I needed this functionality for our data migration and subsequently this bug was just a target of opportunity. Hopefully this helps someone else as well. It's fine by me that someone else will solve this problem with more style and potentially discard all the work I have made. This is difficult when the amount of Items grows substantially large. Implemented a filter to limit the Items shown (and SELECTed from the DB) based on some typical filters, locationbranch, volume, number, issue, fromDate, toDate. Also streamlined how Serials-data is pulled from the DB to prevent substantial extra work in C4::Items::GetItemsInfo(). C4::Items::GetItemsInfo() extended to support various filters. All modifications: Item filter shown when there are over 50 items (lotsofitems-flag). Filter fields can be changed based on the Biblio type (isSerial-flag). -Volume + Issue + Number available only for serials. Can syspref if Issue-field is used in serial records. Can syspref a regexp to parse the Volume + Number + Issue from the enumeration or chronology field. FromDate and ToDate filter the serial.publisheddate when dealing with serials otherwise target the items.timestamp -column. C4::Items::GetItemsInfo() simplified to include the serial data in the BIG SQL. This makes filtering by publisheddate much more faster. User input validated using HTML5 input number Business layer validations as well. Could the “Notes” be changed to “Reason”. Notes seems a little ambivalent. Could we change the second sentence at the top to start, “Only the title, author and reason is required,…” In titles for research, there are titles that are very close if not identical, especially dealing with critiques. The default in ‘From an existing record’ is set to a key word function. She reported she can type in the title of an item and may get 200 items that she has to scroll through to find the one she needs. This patch applies the changes made to prog to Bootstrap. To test, switch to the Bootstrap theme and follow the test plan from Bug 10836: Place single and multiple holds under various conditions: - Items which are not available to be place on hold - With OpacHoldNotes on and off - With OPACItemHolds on and off - With OPACAllowHoldDateInFuture on and off - With IndependentBranches on and off - With JavaScript disabled Test setting hold notes, holding specific copies, and setting hold start dates. We can leverage this capability to add the ability for Koha to send sms messages to patrons without the need to subscribe to an sms gateway server. Basic plan: 1. Add a table sms_providers to the db to tell Koha what service providers are available, and what domain emails should be sent to. 2. Add borrowers.sms_provider_id to tell Koha which mobile service the patron subscribes to for the number given in smsalertnumber 3. Modify Koha to send an email rather than using SMS::Send if the driver is set to 'Email' Test plan: 0) Get a mobile phone 1) Apply the patch 2) Run updatedatabase.pl 3) Set the value of SMSSendDriver to 'Email' 4) Go to the admin page, the Additional parameters area should now have the link SMS cellular providers 5) On this page, add some providers. Make sure to add the provider for your own cellular phone service. A popup opens with a text field for search terms and a combo-box to limit search. This combo-box uses the syspref AdvancedSearchTypes to know what list of values display. The bug is that the code acts has if AdvancedSearchTypes has always one value, but since Bug 7031, this syspref can have several values (item types, collection codes and locations). This patch removes the use of AdvancedSearchTypes syspref and defines search form with 2 limits : item types and collection codes (from authorised values CCODE). One or both of this information can be on biblio. Searching by location seems to be useless because this information is always on item. If CCODE authorised value does not exist or is empty, the collection code filter is not displayed.
