Bug 15261: Check if checkout/reserve request overlaps existing reserves
When checking out or placing hold, we should check if an existing
reserve whose period overlap exists.
- A user places a hold from opac whose requested period overlaps with an
existing reserve period => prevent reserve
- A librarian places a hold from staff whose requested period overlaps
with an existing reserve period => Warn librarian (Ask for
confirmation)
- A librarian makes a checkout from staff whose requested period
overlaps with an existing reserve period => Warn librarian (Ask for
confirmation)
Test plan:
Enable syspref: AllowHoldDateInFuture OPACAllowHoldDateInFuture
PreventChechoutOnSameReservePeriod and PreventReservesOnSamePeriod
1 (staff side):
- Place a hold on title (which has only one items) level with start date
and expiration date.
- Place another hold (also title level) with period overlaping this
reserve.
- Check you are warned about an existing reserve
2 (staff side):
- Place a hold on title (which has more than one items) level with start
date and expiration date.
- Place another hold (also title level) with period overlaping this
reserve.
- Check you are NOT warned about an existing reserve. Because it remains
at least one item not reserved.
3 (staff side):
- Place a hold on item level with start date and expiration date.
- Place another hold on item level with period overlaping this reserve.
- Check you are warned about an existing reserve.
4 (opac side):
- Do the same than for staff side. Instead of a warn, reserve is
prevented.
5:
- Place a hold on title (which has only one items) level with start date
and expiration date.
- Try to checkout the unique item from this title with period overlaping
the reserve period.
- Check you are warned about an existing reserve
6:
- Place a hold on title (which has more than one items) level with start
date and expiration date.
- Checkout an item from this title with period overlaping the reserve
period.
- Check you are NOT warned about an existing reserve.
7:
- Place a hold on item level with start date and expiration date.
- Checkout this item period overlaping the reserve period.
- Check you are warned about an existing reserve
8:
- Create a checkout (i.e from ${TODAY} to ${TODAY + 10 days}),

That's been met with some resistance too however and as such in some of the work I've already done I've reverted to just using the existing code to 'get it done'. I already introduce at least a small part of this feature but misusing av fields in bug 23354 and I propose shifting into it's own table and corresponding UX in bug 23049. This is set when the message is created and then updated when the message is sent. Additionally, the time_queued data is displayed on the notices tab in a patron's account in a column simply called "Time." Solution: We need to create separate fields for the time a message is created and for the time the message is sent. The time_queued will be populated when added to the message queue table. Populate the time_sent field with the time the message was sent and do not modify time_queued field. Bug 18710 - Wrong subfield modified in batch item modification
In Tools > Batch item modification, one can modify or delete a subfield.
When deleting a subfield et modifying another, the wrong subfield gets
modified.
This is caused by the fact that disabled inputs are not posted in form.
So for a subfield to delete :
Input name=field_value is not posted. But input name=subfield is posted with
subfield code.
So these 2 arrays does not have the same size :
my @subfields = $input->multi_param('subfield');
my @values= $input->multi_param('field_value');
For exemple, deleting $2, not changing $u and modidying $v will modify $u with
value for $v o_O
This patch correts but setting disabled all inputs of a deleted subfield :
field_value, tag, subfield and mandatory. Like it was not present in the form.
Test plan :
- Go to Tools > Batch item modification
- Enter a barcode and submit
- Lets say there are subfields : $2 (not mandatory), $u and $v
- Check the subfield $2 to be deleted
=> $2 input is disabled
- Enter a text in $v
- Submit the form
=> Without patch, the text for $v gets into $u
=> With patch, the text for $v gets into $v
- Check the subfield $2 is well deleted

Hi Paul, the maintenance releases just happened, so it will take some time to get a fix into Koha proper (until next month's bugfix release). Using reports is permission based, maybe inform your staff of the problem? Also implementing a temporary fix might be an option if you are running your own installation.
