To replicate: 1. Check out an item 2. Go to Tools > Batch item deletion 3. Enter the barcode of the checked-out item and submit 4. Observe the item is displayed in a table with a disabled checkbox 5. Select 'Delete selected items' 6. Notice the checked-out item is not deleted When libraries are modifying/deleting large numbers of records it's easy for them to miss the disabled checkboxes when scrolling through the table. The consequence of this is then wondering why some records have not been modified/deleted. It would be useful to more clearly highlight records that cannot be modified/deleted for these tools. Proposed solution: - Replace the disabled checkbox with a red cross (like those displayed beside items on hold pages when you're not allowed to place item-level holds). - Highlight the entire row for the record that cannot be modified/deleted with a yellow background. - In the 'Batch item deletion' and 'Batch item modification' remove the 'Clear on loan' link - introduced in bug 10599 - as removing the disabled checkboxes would make this redundant. --- I could not see disabled checkboxes in use in the 'Batch patron deletion and anonymisation', 'Batch patron modification', 'Batch extend due dates', or 'Batch record modification. I also added the display of the field to the staff interface (ISBD system preference). Has this been fixed some other way, or have I totally screwed up caching/my git clone/testing? Bug 31441: Fix Koha::Item::as_marc_field when kohafield = ''
marc_subfield_structure.kohafield can be NULL, but it can also be an
empty string. But in that case, Koha::Item::as_marc_field ignores them,
which means the resulting MARC::Field object has missing data.
This can produce a bug in OPAC ISBD view (and probably other places
where this method is used)
Test plan:
1. Edit the default biblio MARC framework for the item field: find or
create a subfield that is not linked to a DB column.
Save even if you made no changes to make sure that
marc_subfield_structure.kohafield is set to an empty string.
I'll use 995$Z as an example for the following steps.
2. Add the following to syspref OPACISBD:
#995|Item:|{995Z}|
3. Create a biblio with an item and put a value into 995$Z
4. Go to the ISBD detail page for this record at OPAC. Confirm that the
value you entered in 995$Z is not visible
5. Apply patch and restart koha
6. Refresh the ISBD detail page. Confirm that the 995$Z is now visible.
7. Run `prove t/db_dependent/Koha/Item.t`

Our library is in the same situation as Rhonda’s where we need to be able know the exact status of how much we’ve spent and how much is outstanding in our current fiscal year which goes through the end of September - but we also want to start pre-ordering materials for the next fiscal year. We’ve handled this in two ways over the years. One is to stop ordering anything that we aren’t sure will fill before the end of the current fiscal and wait to order it until the next fiscal year. That means we don’t get the newest materials on time and patrons are not happy about that. The other method is to go ahead and just keeping ordering but attempt to track how much of what is encumbered will actually fill during the current year in an Excel spreadsheet. I'm trying to document the new Components feature, but I'm running into problems when using UseControlNumber. In Bug 30327, the test plan mentions that UseControlNumber can be used or not, but from what I can see, ShowComponentRecords does not work with UseControlNumber. To test: 1. Enable ShowComponentRecords 1.1. Go to Administration > Global system preferences 1.2. Search for ShowComponentRecords 1.3. Choose either staff interface or both 1.4. Save 2. Enable UseControlNumber 2.1. Go to Administration > Global system preferences 2.2. Search for UseControlNumber 2.3. Choose 'Use' 2.4. Save 3. Add 773 $t and $w in the default MARC bibliographic framework 3.1. Go to Administration > MARC bibliographic framework 3.2. Click Actions > MARC structure next to Default framework 3.3. Search for 773 3.4. Click Actions > Edit subfields 3.5. Click on tab 't' 3.6. Check 'Editor' in the 'Advanced constraints' section 3.7. Click on tab 'w' 3.8. Check 'Editor' in the 'Advanced constraints' section 4. Catalog a host record 4.1. Go to Cataloging 4.2. Click on 'New record' 4.3. Fill in the mandatory fields (000, 003, 005, 008, 040$c, 245$a (note this one down), 942$c) 4.4. Enter a number in 001 (and note it down) 4.5. Save (no need to create an item) 5. Catalog a child record 5.1. Go to Cataloging 5.2. Click on 'New record' 5.3. Fill in the mandatory fields (000, 003, 005, 008, 040$c, 245$a, 942$c) 5.4. This aims to bring basic FRBR functionality to the Koha OPAC. To achieve this goal we plan to break the development into several steps. We envision the initial implementation to be built using the Koha plugin system so that code can be adapted as necessary. Once the initial functionality is working the code can then be integrated into the Koha codebase. Groups are ISBN, Title, and Author. DVD matches: Title, (brainstorm other match points) Serials: ISSN, title, other??? Eresources - pull the indexes into a place (side index) that we can use these when searching. Display - ‘overdrive/not in koha’ provide the path Group id? Assigned at the time it is ingested. The patch also adds standard Bootstrap alert classes to several messages which might be displayed on the screen, e.g. "You have no pending purchase suggestions." To test, apply the patch and make sure the "suggestion" system preference is enabled. - With the OPACViewOthersSuggestions preference disabled, log in to the OPAC and view your suggestions. - If you have no suggestions you should see a Bootstrap-styled message box, "You have no pending purchase suggestions." - If necessary, submit a suggestion. With at least one suggestion present you should see a search form above the table of suggestions. The patch also adds standard Bootstrap alert classes to several messages which might be displayed on the screen, e.g. "You have no pending purchase suggestions." To test, apply the patch and make sure the "suggestion" system preference is enabled. - With the OPACViewOthersSuggestions preference disabled, log in to the OPAC and view your suggestions. - If you have no suggestions you should see a Bootstrap-styled message box, "You have no pending purchase suggestions." - If necessary, submit a suggestion. With at least one suggestion present you should see a search form above the table of suggestions.
